Narratives: A Constellation of Stories – 2026

 In Artist Books, Exhibitions

I’m so excited to share that Narratives is returning to Maleny for a third year running in 2026. This year’s theme is A Constellation of Stories.

This beautiful artist book exhibition continues to grow – bringing together more than 20 artists and an ever-expanding audience curious about what artist books can be. It’s such a joy to see this form growing in recognition and appreciation among both artists and visitors.

Held at The Little Red Cottage art + ecology space, and presented alongside the Sunshine Coast Hinterland Writers Festival, Narratives sits in that perfect space between visual art and storytelling. Each book offers its own way of communicating – through structure, sequence, material, text, image and touch. Some are quiet and intimate. Others are bold and sculptural. Together, they form a rich and layered conversation about place, memory, imagination and connection.

Exhibition Submissions

I’m delighted to have two of my artist books included this year – Canopy and Meet me in the forest. Both works sit within my ongoing exploration of trees, landscape and the relationships that shape the environments around us.

There’s something special about experiencing artist books in person. They ask you to slow down. To look closely. To spend time.

If you’re able to visit, I highly recommend it. This exhibition is growing into something really meaningful within our local arts community – and I’m so proud to be part of it.

I hope to see you there.
