You can also bring a friend to share the experience.

Private Tuition sessions are held at my private studio in Maleny, and are subject to availability.

Suitable for beginner to intermediate skill levels, all ages over 16.

Contact me directly to discuss what it is you want to cover and availability.

Learning Outcome

This will be determined when we discuss what it is you want to cover in your private session. I am passionate about printmaking and sharing skills.

Inclusions

In most instances, materials needed to learn and produce a piece or body of work will be supplied. We will discuss materials prior to your session, and I will advise what materials fee will apply. This fee will cover the use of tools, papers and ink used during our session.

What to Bring

We will discuss this further when we arrange dates and times for your private tuition session.

Safety

Participants are advised to wear closed in shoes, and suitable clothing or apron that you do not mind getting ink on. The inks can set permanently on fabric.

In all workshops we use water based inks or paints, so wash up of tools and hands will use soap and water, not potent cleaning chemicals. If oil-based inks are used, we will discuss appropriate clean up of tools during the workshop. In some instances, chemicals are used for wash up of oil-based inks, as are non-toxic cleaning materials.

We use sharp tools to carve lino. You will be given instruction on how to hold and use the tools, and it will expected that you follow instruction and take care while using them.

Booking/Payment

Please contact me directly to enquire about availability and discuss what it is you want to learn.

Full payment is required to secure your booking. Payment can be made via PayPal or direct deposit.

If you cancel your booking within 7 days of commencement you may incur fees. Please read my cancellation policy here.

  • I had the pleasure of attending a private workshop with Kim to extend my gelatin plate printing skills, discuss registration and to play with cyanotyping. Kim provided extensive and well researched information in an organised and thoroughly enjoyable morning. I look forward to my next workshop.

  • For many years I’ve been searching for an art medium that I can get excited about and now, at this late stage of my life, I’ve found it. Something unknown and unexpected, a passion - perfect for my ageing and rheumatic hands, simple processes I can indulge in on a daily basis, and yearn for when other duties call. I became inspired less than a year ago after visiting a printing exhibition of aboriginal lino cuts. But what to do? A search on Google took me to Kim’s inspirational website and the decision was made. I wanted to get started there and then and so I decided to take a one-on-one session - four hours of entry into this new world. It was just what I needed. Entry level, slow paced, hands on, with fabulous colours and beautiful papers, and take-home gorgeous works of art. I not only learnt the basics of lino printing, but Kim very wisely offered an alternative for when my hands aren’t functioning so well - gelli printing, and it is this that now sustains me. I recently took another individual workshop with Kim, this time to discuss my progress and go deeper into the unlimited possibilities - Kim is such a good teacher - listening, reflecting, guiding and encouraging. I can’t recommend her highly enough - I’m hooked for life, and will return to her studio as often as I can.
