Colour is powerful, emotive, persuasive, dramatic, soothing, and an integral part of the world around us. This FREE (with enrolment) workshop looks at colour theory, colour application and colour wheels. It covers 25+ lessons. It is text based (not video), and you can move about within the workshop at your own pace. Plus there are a few colour wheel exercises to do yourself to help better understand your newly learned colour skills.

Overview

This workshop is a text-based learning approach, not video (at this stage) – but there are lots of pretty colour wheels to enjoy, and pdf downloads for your own reference. Its more reading than hands-on; but I share a template and how-to steps of my own home-made colour wheel – an invaluable tool for me in my studio (and much more meaningful now that I have a better understanding of colour !! ).

However, if you want to paint up your own colour wheels, grey step wedge or referene scales, then you will need some paper and paint (acrylic, watercolour).

At the very least, you will need:
paper (use any paper, but a decent weight (minimum 120gsm) drawing, cartridge, watercolour or printmaking paper is recommended)
pigment – eg acrylic, watercolour or oil paint
a brush
– a printer to print the colour wheel (and other) templates. If you don’t have access to a printer, you can draw a copy of each templates.
