Open Studios Sunshine Coast – 17-26 July 2026

 In Journal, The Studio

After taking part in Open Studios Sunshine Coast for the past five years, I’ve decided to have this year off.

I’ll absolutely miss welcoming visitors into my studio and chatting all things printmaking. Open Studios has introduced me to so many wonderful people over the years, and I remain incredibly grateful for the support and encouragement.

This year, though, I’m giving myself the gift of time. My focus is firmly on preparing for my upcoming solo exhibition, continuing my own creative development, and planning future workshops.

If you’ve never explored Open Studios Sunshine Coast, I highly recommend it. It’s a wonderful opportunity to step inside artists’ studios, discover new creative practices, meet the people behind the work and support local artists across our region.

One of the things I particularly like about the program is the way it encourages people to explore different parts of the Sunshine Coast.

Each year, the Coastal and Hinterland studios alternate in which region opens the event. In 2026, the Coastal studios begin the program, followed by the Hinterland studios the following weekend, with studios from both regions open during the week. The Bruce Highway forms the approximate boundary between the two art trails.

  • Friday 17/Saturday 8 – Sunday 19 July – COASTAL studios and galleries over 3 different trails from Pelican Waters up to Coolum Beach and Yandina
  • Saturday 25 – Sunday 26 July – HINTERLAND artist studios and galleries over 3 different trails from the Glass House Mountains and Landsborough to Maleny, Montville and Nambour.

I hope you find time to visit a few studios this year. You never know what you might discover.

For dates, participating artists and trail maps, visit the dedicated Open Studios Sunshine Coast website.
