WOW what a huge weekend!!! Open Studios Sunshine Coast 2022 kicked off with the opening of the coastal studios on the weekend of 18-19 March and the Hinterland studios 26-27 March.

I opened 25-26-27 March.

Just like last year, I didn’t what to expect by way of interest and numbers of people planning to visit; and just like last year, I was humbled and blown away by how many people did visit. 190-ish people came to visit.

Shiva – THANK YOU 🙏 so very much 🙏 for your help on Saturday. You are a blessing. Thank you 🙏

It is so exciting to share printmaking with people interested in it – people who are printmakers themselves, as well as people interested in art wanting to become a little more familiar with the art of printmaking.

And as with last year, I didn’t get any photos during the weekend (very unlike me!). However, Marcia from Visit Maleny visited on Monday and grabbed some photos. I did manage a quick video before opening the gate on the Friday morning (above) and  few photos of everything setup and ready to share (below).

For me, the Open Studios experience is about opening and sharing a very private space with the public interested in art and creative spaces. It is as much about looking and chatting and learning as it is buying and selling work.

I do appreciate the sales I made over the weekend THANK YOU! And I loved even more the conversations and sharing of process with anyone and everyone prepared to listen to me talk “until the cows come home” about printmaking.

THANK YOU everyone who visited. I can’t express in words how wonderful the feeling to welcome people interested in my work into my studio. I hope to see many of you at printmaking workshops in the future 🙂
