Open Studios 2025 – Thank You!

 In Journal, The Studio

What a weekend! I’m always surprised, flattered and encouraged by how many people take the time to visit my studio during Open Studios Sunshine Coast 2025. This year (and my 5th in the Open Studios Sunshine Coast program) was no different – a full and wonderfully chatty few days with new faces and returning visitors dropping in to explore the space and talk all things printmaking.

The weather held out (despite predictions!), and the sunshine matched the warm energy that filled the studio. Many people commented on how peaceful and welcoming the space felt – that means a lot to me. I know how special it feels to step into an artist’s own space, and it’s an honour to share mine.

On display were examples of what students can create in my workshops, alongside some original artworks, fine art reproduction prints and a few handmade treasures. The response to the workshop samples was huge, with lots of interest from new people signing up to hear about upcoming classes.

I also shared a few of my recent artist books – and now I’m looking forward to focusing on a fresh body of work.

A big thank you to Stephanie, who’s been by my side helping for the past three years. I couldn’t have managed the weekend without her support (and her gentle reminders to eat!).

If you visited – thank you. If you missed it – there’s always next year. Keep an eye out for the social media posts leading up to May next year. You can find out more about the program on the Open Studios Sunshine Coast website.
