Are you an Arts or Crafts Group wanting to explore printmaking?
Are you an Artisan space looking to offer a workshop in an age-old craft with a contemporary twist?
Or do you have a group of friends, family or work colleagues, wanting to get together to share a creative experience?
If you are a School, click here for information about School Group Bookings.
Private group art workshops are a great way to spend time with people you know, bouncing creative ideas around, and encouraging each other.
I can bring the workshop to you, or your can bring your group to my studio.
I am passionate about printmaking and love to share my skills. I work to create a relaxed and fun environment; a safe space for you and your friends to connect with their creativity and create while learning new skills.
My Private Group printmaking workshops are suitable for creative-minded people from beginner to intermediate skill levels.
AT MY STUDIO: I can run any of my printmaking workshops for private groups from my own studio; and can provide all tools and materials needed for each workshop.
AT YOUR LOCATION: If you would like me to travel to your location, any workshops is possible, depending on your location and group numbers. Etching and eco-printing workshops are the most restrictive given the nature of the equipment used, so this will need to be discussed before finalising any booking. I am able to provide tools and materials if needed, or can work with resources at your facility if preferred.
An objective of all of my workshops is to share my skills and impart knowledge and information so you can continue to explore and develop your new-found skills in your own studio or home.
In most instances, tools and materials needed for workshops help in my studio will be supplied. A materials per person charge may be applied to your booking.
For tools and materials for workshops held at your location, I can supply some or all supplies and/or you can supply your own.
We will discuss materials prior to your private group workshop, and I will confirm what materials fee will apply.
You can read about the materials fee for my public workshops here. This will give you an idea of the sort of material inclusions, or what is needed for your workshop.
If the private group booking is at your location, it is assumed that your group will provide a safe venue to run the workshop, plus tables and chairs and access to water. This can be discussed further when you make your workshop enquiry.
My home base is Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Costs to cover travel expenses are charged in addition to the workshop fee. As a guide, these costs are:
- within the Sunshine Coast area – $0
- to and from Gympie – $120
- to and from Brisbane – $100-$220
- to and from the Gold Coast or Toowoomba – $220-$280
- to and from other locations – please enquire
Workshops that run for 2 or more days may require additional costs to cover accommodation and travel.
SCHOOL GROUPS: I have worked with Year 11 Visual Art students as part of the new Senior Syllabus at several high schools in South East Queensland. My gelatin plate monoprinting workshop has been popular with schools, introducing an exciting experimental approach for students to explore. Click here for more information and to make an enquiry.
YOUNG CHILDREN: Private Group workshops in my personal studio are not suitable for children under 14 years of age. If you are a family group wanting to a private group workshop and you have younger children, please contact me to discuss further.
Participants are advised to wear closed in shoes, and suitable clothing or apron that you do not mind getting ink on. Inks and paint can set permanently on fabric.
In all workshops we use water based inks or paints, so wash up of tools and hands will use soap and water, not potent cleaning chemicals. If oil-based inks are used, we will discuss appropriate clean up of tools during the workshop. In some instances, chemicals are used for wash up of oil-based inks, as are non-toxic cleaning materials.
In some workshops we will use sharp tools. You will be given instruction on how to use the tools, and it will expected that you follow instruction and take care while using them.
Please contact me directly to enquire about availability, workshop options and discuss what it is you want to learn.
Full payment is required to secure your booking.
Payment of your workshop invoice assumes full acceptance of Workshop Term and Conditions.

“Kims knowledge combined with her positive, calm and enthusiastic manner as a tutor creates a rewarding learning experience.” Lyn G —- “I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop as I found the first workshop a little confusing with all of the different variables, so this one helped me to consolidate the effects I liked from the first one. … Thank you for your brilliant organisation and the planning and time you put in behind the scenes in your brilliantly appointed studio.” Jill K

Participant feedback – What did you like about the workshop:
“I genuinely loved everything about this workshop – this was perfect for beginners to printmaking as well as experienced artists (and a wonderful professional development opportunity for our Art teachers). The notes provided at the beginning of the day are incredibly helpful. I cannot wait to start experimenting further with eco-printing!”
“I like the various processes, the relaxed pace of the workshops, the many demonstrations, the explanations, the written information provided, the organisation and preparation of the resources, the sharing of ideas, the warm welcoming environment, the morning tea, the smiles and conversations, the fun. In summary – The whole thing!”
“The mountain of information – both verbal, and the note form that was provided to us – so handy to be able to refer back to! Encouragement to let go and just be creative. Constructive feedback on technique. So many examples of works, and what could be done with them. Welcoming and amazing vibes in the studio. Ability to have a small group was great as everyone was able to ask questions etc.”

Could not think of anything to improve such a wonderful and enjoyable learning experience. Thanks Kim, you are incredible!" Barbi ---- "Just loved the excellent results from the 4 different processes which were very well explained by Kim, an excellent tutor! It was a great learning experience. I loved seeing the varied colours and prints from the other participants. Also loved not having to source any items for the workshop as Kim provided papers, solutions and plant material. The chocolate cake was also very special." Sue ---- "Kim was very well prepared and organised . Kim is amazing with her generosity of knowledge. I think I am addicted to Kim’s workshops!" Margaret ---- "I especially loved the learning and sharing of our experience as a group.. Kim your knowledge and your enthusiasm for your craft is so infectious. You are very generous sharing so much of your learned experiences with us and this was so appreciated by all there. Your studio is well set up and the space is inviting and has a wonderful welcoming feel as soon at you enter. Congratulations on a well planned and run workshop. You did well to keep use on target and would love to participate in more of your workshops. A bit tired today but still buzzing with excitement and looking forward to the next step." Susan ---- " I just want to say thank you again, it was great fun and I learnt a lot...although I had done a workshop on this subject before, this one was much more enjoyable, the venue, your tutoring style and the methods you shared were simple and very accesable....it really was most enjoyable and relaxing. I think the very best thing was how you had everything ready, the paper already soaking, the fabric (blankets) all cut up....nothing was difficult or hard...just heaps of fun." Val ---- "It was such a pleasure to be guided by Kim through her well organised workshop. Not having to source materials made for a great day with delicious chocolate cake an added bonus. I loved the varied results we all got- a super day, thanks Kim." Sue

We shared lunch afterwards and I thought you'd like to know that you received the loveliest compliments. Words like "professional, generous, amazing, inspirational and knows what she's doing" abounded. Everyone enjoyed the workshop and 3 hours was just right. We were also very impressed at how organised you are. Your gentle guidance and encouragement gave me so much confidence, and I especially loved the way you would tell us to detach from the outcome. I was so inspired that I did just that this morning on a frame of silk that will become scarves. That advice really freed me up to play without boundaries and this piece is unusual for me. ... abandoned playfulness.

Kim is such a fantastic teacher. Very informative. Explains the subject so it is easy to understand. Very generous with all aspects of the workshop. Lots of fun. I came away, and I can say for all our group, with such energy and enthusiasm. Cannot wait to continue with all the knowledge from this second workshop that I have attended with Kim.

"I am not a beginner and yet I learnt so much. About using tools, mark making, sharpening tools, and doing a rubbing! Had never thought of that as a way to review progress. You are a great teacher, generous with your time and knowledge, patient, and passionate. Not precious about your knowledge and expertise like some teachers. It was great Kim. Thankyou." Julie --- "I hadn’t done Lino print for a long while, and after the workshop, I’m so hooked. And we also got lots of information for places to buy and places to visit for inspiration." Ellen --- "Love that Kim shared her knowledge of the Exhibition at the Gallery, and sharing her passion for her chosen Practice in the Art World. THE best workshop I have attended at the Gallery. Many, many thanks" Joan --- "I feel privileged to have been able to participate in the workshop." Margaret --- "Can’t wait for the next one!" Barbi --- "I had a great experience and look forward to developing my new skill." Sandy

The Mixed Media Art group at the Buderim Cottage, of which I am leader, invited Kim to conduct two gel plate workshops in October. I found Kim to be professional, her workshop was very well planned and organised. In addition to being an excellent printmaker, she was able to impart her skills and enthusiasm with ease. Her workshops were successful and were universally enjoyed by everyone who attended.

Again I had the opportunity to attend one of Kim's lino printing workshops. She is unbelievable in the knowledge she has and is willing to pass on to you. Kim goes way beyond what would be expected of a tutor. I fully recommend her to anyone thinking of taking up a new art. Kim makes it so easy to learn. Thank you.
