Blue
If I look through my work there is a strong recurring colour and tone and feeling of Blue. It is my favourite colour. I think blue it to most popular colour the world over. And why not … for so many reasons it is a magnificent colour, in all its shades.
Sometimes I like to make for the sake and love of just making. That’s what this book is. I took inspiration from Hedi Kyle and Ulla Warchol‘s book ‘The Art of the Fold’ and made a Blizzard book with pleated cover using some of my gelatin plate monotype prints.
I used two prints – they are related to each other in colour and the botanical materials I used. One print was used for the cover, the other for the internal content pages. No stitching or gluing, just the magic of folding paper to hold the structure.
