Cyathea cooperi
Tree fern
A change of view.
From below, a tree fern canopy can feel immense. Seen from above, or isolated from the surrounding forest, its form becomes almost geometric.
Fronds radiate from a central point, each carrying smaller repetitions of the same pattern. Yet the pattern holds the irregular edges and variations of living growth.
I had walked past many tree ferns without noticing this structure. Stopping and looking from a different perspective changed how I saw a plant I thought I knew.
