Thank you for making it so special. Your guidance, talent and patience with our group was fabulous. We had a beautiful day and we are so thrilled with our silk scarves. You tapped a creative place in each of us that we had forgotten was there.
-
I came to the Reduction Linocut Workshop with a lack of enthusiasm for linocut printing, but I was impressed by Kim's amazing reduction linocut prints. I wasn't disappointed. I really enjoyed the reduction process. Thank you Kim, you were very patient and explained each step clearly, demonstrating when necessary. I'm now inspired to try the reduction linocut process at home.

I chose to do the beginners Gel Plate Printing Workshop, not because I was a beginner, but because I hadn't done any gel printing for well over a year and I needed a "refresher". The saying "practice makes perfect" is certainly true. I had forgotten quite a few techniques, including registration! Thank you Kim, I really enjoyed the day and I am motivated to not only practice gel printing but to experiment once again.
-
So exciting to do eco-dying on silk again. The results and vibrant colours achieved by all participants produced much excitement and satisfaction. With Kim’s vast experience and superb guidance, she encouraged us to push the boundaries as she steered us in the right direction to hopefully achieve our desired outcome. We all left with smiling faces and gratitude, for the 4 amazing silk scarves we had each produced. The excitement continued on arriving home to rinse and iron the scarves, discovering the incredible botanical details that had imprinted on the silk, together with the vibrant colours. What a lovely way to spend a day. Thank you so very much Kim.

This workshop is was pure joy.
-
I liked everything about this workshop - there was nothing to not like! I questioned if I was ready for this workshop as it had been two years since I did the Eco-printing on Parer intro course, maybe I needed to do the intro course again? Those concerns were quickly allayed straight up and I wasn’t the only participant feeling this way….. With you (Kim) thoroughly revising the principles of eco-printing, going back over the ‘technical’ essentials and illustrating this with the many examples of your testing was such a game changer for me - I felt I could comfortably re-engage with the process with a growing understanding. Thank you Kim! Letting go and embracing the outcome was liberating. I loved my prints from today. I’m now re-reading the course handouts you provided. Again, and as always, so thorough without being overwhelming with technical jargon. The inclusion of a technical sheet for each of the four pots was excellent. I appreciated that the essential technical data was already populated with ‘tick’ options for the variables we figured in for each cook. This made note keeping efficient and pertinent to each bundle as we progressed through the day. Another lovely group of people, a positive and supportive learning environment and a fabulous cake to keep energy levels en-point.
-
If you are wanting to get your creative juices flowing then this workshop is the way to go! A totally creative day from start to the crescendo finish. Wow! [What did you like about the workshop] Being challenged to think differently, the sense of community, permission to play and explore, learning new skills and of course a wonderful and compassionate teacher. It was refreshing.
-
Plenty of useful information from a great teacher, hands on straight up into printing and lots of fun. We tried a number of different printing techniques and lots of encouragement. It was great fun and I liked the freedom of "there's no mistakes". Great cake too and good company.
-
I loved the group interaction, all the information that was given, the way Kim was always able to come and check things and help out when we were tiring. So many resources given and available to look at. The studio is a fabulous space and I immediately felt comfortable and at home.
-
It opened up my eyes to the world of stitched bookbinding. Kim made the workshop so interesting and well structured and shared so much about the processes and especially the resources and where to buy many of them. The homemade baked goods were a delicious bonus! Even for a complete beginner like myself, who is used to woodworking tools, I came away with an enthusiasm to keep going with stitched bookbinding and to master the needle! The course handouts were very detailed, a lot of work put in by Kim and there were almost limitless resources to make four or five stitched books and especially the coptic binding book. It really was a great workshop and big thank you to Kim for her relaxed and fun, yet informative teaching of the stitching methods.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed my botanical mono print workshop & would highly recommend. It was fabulous learning more about printmaking with these mediums. Kym’s knowledge was exceptional & the stunning studio location inspired some of my works.

-
Such an enjoyable workshop thank you Kim. It has opened my eyes to a whole new world of printmaking. Can’t wait to experiment more.
-
It was one of the most fun filled workshops I have ever attended. I found it so refreshing. You were there for everyone with a smile and so generous in sharing your knowledge. I am not sure how you can improve on something that has a pretty high bar as it is! I have attended two other workshops on Collagraphs. One online with Sally Hirst and one with Kay Watanabe in Brisbane. I came away from your workshop full of fresh ideas. I appreciated the time you spent talking to me taking. chances and experimenting. I needed to hear that. The workshop was fun and so inspiring! You are an excellent teacher. So organized.
-
I love the relaxed atmosphere and the inspiration your beautiful studio provides. Your teaching style is perfect, informal and fun! And I just love the books we made and can't stop thinking of the endless possibilities.
-
Your knowledge and generosity with it and all the materials. You had thought of everything and didn't skimp on supplying us with all we needed. It was great chatting to the other ladies and sharing the great vibe in the studio. I love that you're across so many different media and I could user technical terms without having to explain them.
-
Kim is a master workshop facilitator setting the stage to achieve great outcomes for all, with a relaxed and fun environment to help produce individual's excellence
-
your pre workshop was excellent and i felt well informed before the day. only feedback I wasnt sure whether I needed to bring an apron as I didnt know if it was a messy process as a beginner. the day sped and that means that I was focused and confident in how you taught and planned the workshop. i also feel confident to do some cyanotyping at home.
-
Kim was well organised. Explanations and demonstration explicit and easy to follow. Busy all day, with breaks whenever we needed one. Handouts are excellent with all the information required to continue on our own. Inspired to experiment furthur with the cyanotype process.
-
I highly recommend Kim's workshops. You will be provided with all the supplies and information required to take home finished works and inspiration to pursue further.
-
Kim's classes are just brilliant she is so experienced and helps me a lot as I am older but this is my first time at this type of print making..You really could not ask for better..just do it..
Exective Ink Weekly Classes -
[What do you like about the weekly classes?] I really like being able to work on my own project but have Kim there to provide expert guidance when I need it. Also, it's fun to share time with a great group of women and see how their projects, which are all different, evolve.

I look forward to my Wednesdays on the mountain. Kim you have created such a positive supportive environment. I have learned so much from you and my very clever class mates. The thing I like most about the class is it keeps challenging me. I want to dip my toe into other courses now and can see how they cross over and augment things I am doing now.
Executive Ink Weekly Classes -

Another fun time at a Kim H workshop. I came out of Collagraphs & Cutout with A massive reigniting of enthusiasm and inspiration for this printmaking form. Very happy with what I created over the two days with Kim’s e pert advice and encouragement. So, so motivated as a result. Thank you once again Kim!

Loved being made to feel welcomed and relaxed as soon as I arrived. Loved being part of a group of women all tapping into creativity. Loved the space which was full of interesting and inspiring objects. Loved the music and the delicious orange and almond cake. It was a day away from the treadmill, a day to recoup, a day to challenge myself to a new skill that wouldn’t be judged and in which my imagination could explore without limit.
-
This was my 4th work shop with Kim and I will be back for more. I have enjoyed every workshop, but the Eco printing work shop I have enjoyed the most. I loved the results we all got and was amazed by the colours we achieved. I am already looking forward to the follow up work shop on this technique. Kim her workshops are always the right balance between information and play. There is room for lots of questions and experimenting. The location is beautiful and the people attending are always lovely.
-
For someone with no previous experience in fabric dying - Generous, informative introduction with clear verbal, practical demonstration and written handouts.
-
This is the second workshop I have attended with Kim and like the first which was in gelplate printing I found it inspiring, extremely well organised and also immense fun. Kim is a highly motivated, skilled and passionate teacher and excellent communicator.
-
Kim Is an inspiration this is a must do workshop if you have any interest whatsoever in printmaking or botanicals. I have so many ideas now I practice what I learnt today for the next 12 months
-
Thank you once again, yesterday was a fantastic opportunity and the staff and students loved it! Your knowledge passion and skill are incredible and it was such a pleasure having you enrich our students program.
-
I really enjoyed the time to think through the processes, do some trouble shooting on ideas, and even though I didn't get any work through to completion, it really helped me formulate my ideas for a large work. Kim's generous support makes this process so much easier.
-
Kim’s lino reduction workshop was fantastic, better than I expected. I expanded and built on my basic lino skills and I’m ready to take on new and more complex projects. I learned a heap of practical knowledge about planning, preparation and clean up as well as additional resources too. I loved playing with all her tools. Maleny is also a great place to visit. Thanks Kim!
-
I was thoroughly impressed by the comprehensive exploration of various printmaking techniques before we even started! Kim, offered helpful tips and tricks for achieving successful results - which I finally did! As I struggled on my on at home.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop as I found the first workshop a little confusing with all of the different variables, so this one helped me to consolidate the effects I liked from the first one. I also like using the different tins/tiles/bamboo/dowel variations again. Thank you for your brilliant organisation and the planning and time you put in behind the scenes in your brilliantly appointed studio.
-
Kims knowledge combined with her positive, calm and enthusiastic manner as a tutor creates a rewarding learning experience.
-
I really enjoy Kim's workshops because they are well structured and organised. Kim openly shares her depth of knowledge on all her printing techniques . I like the small class size so you feel you get more personal attention and help from Kim. I highly recommend Kim's workshops. I have done 6 so far.
-
I have just attended my third workshop with Kim. She has always given 110% in expertise, personal attention and patience. Also, its great that all materials are provided and all I need to take are my ideas. She provides a variety of workshops and I am looking forward to booking my next one. one more thing...... her jam drops are fabulous.
-
[what did you like about the workshop] The mountain of information - both verbal, and the note form that was provided to us - so handy to be able to refer back to! Encouragement to let go and just be creative. Constructive feedback on technique. So many examples of works, and what could be done with them. Welcoming and amazing vibes in the studio. Ability to have a small group was great as everyone was able to ask questions etc.
-
[What did you like about the workshop] I like the various processes, the relaxed pace of the workshops, the many demonstrations, the explanations, the written information provided, the organisation and preparation of the resources, the sharing of ideas, the warm welcoming environment, the morning tea, the smiles and conversations, the fun. In summary - The whole thing!
-
I genuinely loved everything about this workshop - this was perfect for beginners to printmaking as well as experienced artists (and a wonderful professional development opportunity for our Art teachers). The notes provided at the beginning of the day are incredibly helpful. I cannot wait to start experimenting further with eco-printing!
-
Wonderful opportunity to slow down and enjoy time for self.. also engage with like minded others. [What did you like about the workshop?] Comprehensive instruction, followed up with support and encouragement to create and experiment. Thoroughly enjoyable experience.

The embossing workshop was great. As always, Kim was an excellent teacher; patiently attending to everyone's questions and helping us all get the most out of the experience. I am looking forward to combining the embossing technique with other print making processes. The workshop was focused and productive, but also held in a fun and relaxed manner that resulted in lots of laughs. Thanks for another excellent workshop Kim.

-
Kim is an amazing teacher and a beautiful soul. The workshop exceeded my expectations and I am eager to attend another soon. I feel motivated and inspired to put to practice what I learned. The venue has an amazing energy. I absolutely loved my day. Thankyou Kim
-
Kim is a great communicator and takes the time to share her knowledge and experience with each person in the class. We were shown techniques and a formal process to follow that ensured we didn’t get stuck wondering what to do next. As the results were always surprising, it kept us busy and keen to try new combinations of colour with organic matter and/or stencils. The time flew by and it was a lovely day.
-
Kim is a wonderful and generous teacher. Imparting her wealth of knowledge of all things printed in a friendly, fun and inspirational way. You can't help but feel excited to learn in one of her workshops. I have attended 3 and would attend another in a heartbeat!
-
I found it a magical experience wow. Kim explains and demonstrates so clearly that I couldn't wait to get started !!
-
Good group, lots of interesting techniques to play with and explore outside the workshop. It was a good pace with time to play, get a good feel of the various approaches and have fun. Kim is generous with her ideas, time and discussions. It’s a fun day.
-
i loved our interaction with Kim and learnt so much from her in a easy friendly manner. i would recommend this workshop to anyone of any age. thanks Kim hopefully we meet again sometime.
-
Kim’s passion and expertise was very evident throughout the workshop and her ability to manage the diverse needs of the group. Kim has a refreshing balance of being super creative but also practical to work at a good pace to teach the complex processes of print making. She also makes you feel like you are already part of a printmaking community and on a printmaking journey even if you are just a novice!
-
Kim's workshops are always professional organised and run. There is no element of "I wonder what we're doing" - with everything from notes, paper, tools and usually a lovely printed card all laid out ready and waiting for your arrival. Processes are well explained, often demonstrated with Kim's enthusiasm for the subject matter absolutely contagious. I defy you to attend any of Kim's amazing workshops and not thoroughly enjoy yourself and come away with an appreciation of both her and her work.
-
Every aspect was mentored by Kim, and she was highly enthusiastic. She anticipated what our next step would be as if we were the only at the workshop. I can not think of any point where I was left wondering of what my next step would be!
-
Kim Herringe has the best workshops. The techniques you learn are great and there is lots of room to experiment and find you own style. The groups are small so lots of opportunities to discuss issues with Kim. She has good handouts and she gives you a link to these on the internet as well. She also does a beautiful cake for morning tea and her studio is very inspiring as well. I can highly recommend her workshops.
-
Kim is an amazing teacher who generously shares her vast knowledge with her students. Her work and enthusiasm are inspiring.
-
This was my first in person workshop at the Studio. Everything was very well organised and welcoming. The handouts, instructions, equipment, and setting were all excellent. This is a fabulous workshop with so many creative options. The day flew by so quickly and I went home with lots of creative intent! Kim is a great instructor/mentor and the studio is just prefect. Thanks.
-
Kim has an uncanny ability to jump around and answer each students questions as they are relevant to that student in that moment. Kim is always enthusiastic and nothing seems to faze her, there is always a work around. Kim also knows her subjects inside out.
-
Really good fun. I loved that it was so easy and that there could be so many different effects and results. Definitely a playful way to get creative.
-
Great group. That everything was provided so I could try GeliPlate printing without having to first buy stuff I may not use again. Large space for each person to work on. Book recommendations to feed my book habit and extend my thinking on GeliPlates. Kim answers all your questions.
-
A workshop in the two different mediums I have attended was an informative and wonderful experience and Kim is a very talented printmaker and generous teacher.
-
Excellent workshop. Well organised, explanations, demonstrations clear and I got lots of assistance when needed. Kim's generosity with materials is amazing and so appreciated.
-
Kim's classes are so well organised and presented that it's a pleasure to spend a weekend in her spacious studio with like minded enthusiasts. We had access to a wide range of papers from which to choose our covers and papers, along with written handouts to take home for our own use. All of the generous variety of materials needed were included in the tuition fee. Following on from demonstrations and practising some basic stitches we were free to choose projects and work at our own pace. The hardest part was deciding what to do when there were so many beautiful book samples on display.
-
What a wonderful way to spend a day! Kim's love of cyanotype and her style of teaching filled me with the confidence and the ideas to get creating myself at home. Cyanotype is an opportunity to combine chemistry with art, photography with art and offers so many opportunities for experimentation which Kim opened my eyes to. With more learning, practice and understanding I look forward to creating some beautiful pieces for myself, and even as gifts perhaps for others.
-
I really enjoyed the day. Beautiful location. Beautiful people. So much fun to learn, experiment and play. I’m coming back for more. Thanks Kim
-
I have come away inspired with new ideas for my printmaking, as well as consolidating what I've learnt over the two days. Thank you Kim. The time frame over two days was excellent. It enabled us to create our collagraph prints without the pressure of a time limit. Kim, you are an exceptional teacher, always ready to help and encourage our individual styles. Your feedback is always positive and you are incredibly generous with your notes and resources. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger - "I'll be back"!
-
Kim is an amazing teacher. Encouraged me to just keep trying. This is my 4th workshop in her fabulous studio. Already looking forward to the next one.
-
As always, Kim is so good at delivery of her workshops and so willing to share information. She is a delight to experience as a teacher, nothing is too hard and she enjoys watching her students experiment with techniques. The workshops are always well set up for with all resources close by conveniently located for easy access in her bright and airy studio.
-
Kim is an inspirational tutor and works tirelessly to guide workshop participants through the printmaking process.
-
I thought that [the workshop] was just perfect and that you had really put a huge amount of effort to get us working at a relaxed pace which enabled us to take in the information and tips that you provided. Seeing all of your research results and your beautiful prints is totally amazing and so inspiring.
-
My Zen place to spread my arty wings and learn as I go. There is always something new to listen too and to laugh with the other students.
-
A highly recommended new workshop with amazing results. As usual Kim had put so much time and effort into experimenting with different chemicals/cooking time/additives etc and we saw results of this extensive and well documented study. Extremely helpful in understanding the process and possible outcomes. Such an enjoyable and successful day.
-
Kim is a wealth of knowledge and very generous with her teaching style. Thoroughly enjoyed the gel printing day. Probably found some more rabbit holes to go down too.
-
Having tried a couple of rounds of gel printing I was feeling a little out of my depth BUT with Kim's knowledge and wonderful teaching I went out and purchased a gel plate and roller plus paints..can't wait to start again over Easter. I highly recommend Kim's classes to one and all.
-
I will definitely be back to do more lessons. [What did you like about the workshop?] lots of useful information and guidance. A small group. Loved seeing your art but also examples from other artists was great.
-
I felt very comfortable. Kim gave me the information and resources I needed to attempt my first lino cut and later print. Kim's passion for print bubbled over. I left with so many future possibilities. I loved it. Thank you. I'm looking for more workshops to do. There were plenty of resources to look at. Kim is a very positive, supportive person.
-
Kim's peaceful workspace and teaching methods help me to unwind and enjoy a lovely creative day... and I surprise myself . I always look forward to a day out at the Studio
-
A fabulous day in a friendly and non-threatening environment that covers the mono printing processes in detail. Excellent quality materials provided and students encouraged to follow individual exploration. Best orange and almond cake provided by Kim. A very passionate and supportive teacher. Thankyou.
-
Kim has won me over with her welcoming and inclusive style of teaching, Liberally scattered with fun asides and quiet reassurances the time flew. My biggest compliment: I didn't want the sessions to finish. [What did you like about your experience?] On the Art side: using the big plate made a huge difference. I want to get one but they just don't seem available at the moment. On the non-Art side: very much enjoyed our chats, how welcoming you were and how much your passion seeped through to me. You have a very inclusive way of teaching which really appeals to me. We were in this adventure together!
-
Kim was incredibly organised and had great strategies to ensure our success. I felt at ease with Kim. She was open and honest about what she does and what we could expect from the workshop.
-
Kim got me "hooked" on gel printing after I purchased Gel Plates with absolutely no clue what to do with them. She was so excited to share one of her printing passions with me, carefully walking me through the basics in a clear and logical manner. Her love of all things paper and print is contagious. Kim has a calm patience coupled with a voracious joy and creativity that is utterly enchanting and totally infectious. Her workshops are meticulously planned, organised and executed. You will leave with an appreciation of her skills as an artist and a new found outlet for your own creativity. I could not recommend a creative "educator" more highly than Kim Herringe
Executive Ink Weekly Classes -
Kim your planning was great. Stuff was planned but you were still able to absorb my non stop questions. Loved that fact you were totally devote to us. You were not trying to do your own work to sell later. It was big brain dumb, here is hoping my brain can remember some of this stuff right?! You were very patient with us i thank you for that. We went A little over time which i was conscious of and you did not try to boot us out the door, you let thus finish off that last bit.
-
Another thoroughly enjoyable weekend spent at Kim's wonderful studio. The venue is perfect and Kim's amazing teaching skills make for a wonderful learning experience. She is so very generous with sharing her talents and knowledge and provides students the best materials and resources.
-
Kim has once again provided all the information and support we needed to develop greater skills in etching. It was great fun and very relaxed. Thank you
-
[What did you like about the workshop?] Printed notes on the projects we were to work on were set out in order on our tables, which made it easy to follow along with each new technique. There were a lot of plain and coloured papers available that we could use in our own projects. I like the idea of following along with the construction of each new technique, and then later in the day choosing what we could make using our own choice of papers and dimensions.
-
Best class Hands down that I have participated in. I came away so excited and confident to create my little works of art. Huge thank you Kim. I will be a repeat offender for sure. [What did you like about the workshop] Everything, it was so much more than I could have wished for.. Kim you were beyond generous with your knowledge.
-
The only folded artists books I knew about were concertina or accordian folded books which I thought were pretty 'blah'. So I was blown away with the amazing ways this simple technique can be taken further. But folded books is sooooo much more - I came away with many creative samples of folded books that take folded books into the stratosphere. this is a wonderful workshop, so full of ideas to take folded artists books in totally new directions.
-
I have been printmaking since I was 14 and am largely self-taught except from my tuition in high school. Wishing to take my lino printing practice to the next level I booked a private session with Kim a few years ago as I was seeking feedback from an accomplished artist who's work I admired. Kim was so generous with her knowledge and I felt so well supported and encouraged to take my practice to a new level. I had always wanted to try reduction lino printing and this workshop was an excellent introduction to this process. The pace and information was awesome, I was able to stretch myself in my learning, and I have come away feeling inspired and motivated to integrate this technique into my future work. Loved it! So grateful for you and your work Kim 🙂 Xx
-
You need an absolutely button for Would you recommend this workshop to friends or family? I think you are an amazing teacher... I have always had a problem with (so called) teachers who do not share enough information, such as suppliers, etcetera... But you totally rock in this regard!
-
I found it wonderful--to be around artists, to be learning new skills, to be given the time to be creative. [What did you like about the workshop?] Explicit guidance given, alongside time to experiment and work independently.
-
There was a relaxed, encouraging, and gently supportive vibe. Kim is skilled at helping just enough, without being intrusive and at encouraging people to learn by attempting new things. She unravels the considerable skill of reduction lino printing into bite-sized pieces. I look forward to doing another workshop. Oh, and she makes delicious cakes!
-
Kim is a wonderful teacher. Very friendly and helpful. Her workshops are a joy to attend. I would recommend others to attend. You will not be disappointed. You get to go home with lots of beautiful Geli prin
-
One of the best workshops I have been to for a long time!
-
I had the best time at the workshop. It was well organised with flexibility on subject matter and Kim was a great support and teacher, and. very approachable. Great coffee, cake and toilet!!!
-
This was a basic lino cut workshop mainly for first timers (lino virgins), like myself but also suitable for someone who may have some experience from the past. Kim explains and demonstrates clearly each step, both to the group and individually. For me it was just the right amount of challenge to both hold my attention and keep me hungry for the next part of the process.
-
[What did you like about the workshop] The pace was great and excellent use of space to make it easy and accessible. Resources and extra reading useful. Loved the demonstrations and ability to ask you any questions and get help one-on-one if necessary. It gave me more food for thought and another process to include in my own art practice. Sometimes new ideas are waking me up at night!!!
-
Highly recommend this course for anyone looking for an introduction to etching that’s low toxic, fun and really inspiring. After taking this course I can’t wait to start printing at home.
-
Fantastic teacher ! So knowledgeable with a really good understanding of the process and its application to the finished result. [What did you like about the workshop] The amount of work achieved and the finished quality of that work.
-
Kim, you are so encouraging, passionate, energetic and fun! And I love the synergy the other students bring to your workshops Thank you so much, Kim! Another great workshop! I love how you just know and that you say yes to everything! Looking forward to my next workshop with you!
-
I loved the way you demonstrated the techniques. You were easy to follow, very friendly and put us at ease. It was great to be with other people all willing to learn and play. Very enjoyable. Highly recommend this workshop for any beginner. Thankyou Kim.
-
If you want to experiment with cyanotype beyond the basics, I highly recommend Kim's extension class. The day was full of new ideas and ways to adjust an image and extend our understanding of how it can be worked on again. I loved the 'I wonder what would happen if..." approach to altering part or all of the existing image using simple products found in the home. The exciting part is understanding that an image can be changed, adjusted and totally redone so easily.
-
I learned a lot more about cyanotype and will be able to do very different works now. it was such a relaxed and fun day .... rain and shine ... and i loved seeing the variety of works which we produced. Kim is a very generous and knowledgeable tutor and I always enjoy her workshops.
-
Kim is the best teacher I have worked with over many years, many modalities and many, many workshops. She presents the materials in a very logical, methodical way, gives great notes, and most importantly shares her passion for and joy in printmaking. Thank you
-
Have a creative block? Need a fresh spark to get back your artistic urges? Kim's workshop is the perfect remedy. Kim is very good at creating the perfect environment in her airy studio to allow creativity to flourish. Professional, also caring and sharing, just the right ratio of attention and demonstration. Dellish cake and coffee. Kim is generous with her supplies and sharing her stash of elements to really travel far, in just a day. So many tips given and resources to find all supplies. Utterly worth attending Kim's workshops.
-
I love how you share personal bits and pieces which encourages others to share as well. After two days in a small group workshop with you, I feel like I have made new friends [What did you like about the workshop] the relaxed atmosphere. the random tangents we talked about - where to buy things, people's backgrounds, what people are doing with their artwork, books related to the workshop or not etc.. the amount of physical objects (books) relating to the workshop in all sorts of creative ways, giving so many ideas - not pictures but we could physically handle them. that everything was included in the price.
-
Feeling the creative block? Totally recommend Kim's classes to lift away the self-doubt that artists, at all stages, flop into with whatever medium one uses. Lovely airy studio, overly generous with supplies. Make new friends over coffee and homemade cake while you learn and create in new ways. Kim freely gives her knowledge and experience to each participant at the perfect moment.
-
This workshop acted like a catalyst to open up a world of possibilities with this medium. Kim showed us enough of those to inspire me to explore and experiment with pushing the blues. Well organised, a lot of information covered which is just what I like in a workshop. Notes of suppliers and references to artists. Plenty of space to work in. Encouragement and help when needed.
-
What a wonderful experience. Kim is a talented and generous teacher. She is happy to share her knowledge and experience and has introduced me to a wonderful technique and I can't wait to start experimenting at home. I feel like I'm at the edge of the rabbit hole.. I can't wait to see where it will take me.
-
Kim’s wealth of knowledge and eagerness to share is amazing. Kim also has such high quality materials, which make learning so much better. A well laid out studio with sufficient desk space to spread out. Amazing resources. It was a great day of learning and I’m so happy with my results. Thanks Kim.
-
If you've not tried Gel Plate Printing before I cannot recommend Kim Herringe's workshops highly enough. Her workshops are well organised, she is clear and concise, endlessly available throughout the day and as eager to teach you all "Her" tricks as she is to answer all of your questions. You are provided with excellent "take away" notes at the beginning of the workshop; together with all the materials you'll need for the day. Kim is an endless font of knowledge and enthusiasm for the medium. Her passion for printing is infectious. She is kindly attentive to everyone in the room and makes a seriously good cake! I'm very grateful to Kim for sharing her boundless knowledge and experience with me. You will not regret doing a workshop with her.
-
This was the first workshop that I've attended with Kim and I have to say it was simply wonderful. The gel printing beyond the basics session allowed me to build on my existing use of the medium and get a really firm handle on some techniques which I wasn't aware of before. Kim is such a good facilitator who has a deep well of knowledge and also boundless spring of enthusiasm which she communicates to all the participants. It's a great workspace. Well lit with everything you need. Also there was lovely cake, tea and coffee. Everything provided that you need. I think we all had a great day. I certainly did, and I'd love to do another workshop with Kim in the future. In summary, highly recommended if you're in doubt as to whether you're going to enjoy one of these workshops put your doubts aside, go along and I think you'll love it and benefit from the enthusiasm and skills you will acquire.
-
I could’ve stayed all week and just kept producing Lino prints. [What did you like about the workshop] Kim’s knowledge and skills. The relaxed environment. The small group.
-
Kim, you are a really great teacher! I love that you are so willing to share each and every thing that you do, discover, etcetera. I also have the same mindset when I teach. I love that it is just play, an excuse to play, to learn, to have lots of additional information provided, and to interact with other creatives. I was pleasantly surprised in that I did not feel that I was lagging or lacking despite never having used this process before. Took a little time to get my colours happening, but they did, I think, by the time I used the bigger gel plate, so that was fun!
-
Just do it! The wonder of this workshop is that, when you have no experience whatsoever, perhaps you may even think that you are not capable, this process is so relatively simple (with the right guidance) that anyone, literally ANYONE, can do it and discover that they can create art! The process in itself requires no prior knowledge. How cool is that!
-
A great learning experience in areas where I wanted to improve both knowledge and skills with an enthusiastic , supportive and very proficient teacher. A wonderful weekend. I loved the friendly atmosphere and your great teaching skills. [Kim is] a very supportive and knowledgeable teacher. I enjoyed real learning in areas I needed to improve my skills. A great weekend.
-
I had a great weekend. It was just the right length of time, and enough exposure to techniques to whet my appetite. I particularly enjoyed the explanations of more advanced methods.
-
I am a bit if a workshop junky. Love joint to learn new things all the time. Kim’s workshops are the best I have attended. Informative and exciting. We always walk away with lots of of our own work for the day and a head bursting with inspiration. Today was cyanotype workshop and it was wonderful. I recommend trying any of Kim’s workshops. You won’t be disappointed
-
I gained knowledge and learnt techniques that, hopefully, will enable me to produce far better prints than I have been able to turn-out so far working on my own at home. Kim’s enthusiasm is contagious and it’s great that we can benefit from her knowledge and experience derived from many years of geli printing. [What did you like about the workshop] I liked that I was left to work through the processes that Kim demonstrated on my own and in my own time—no pressure. But if I was uncertain or needed help Kim was always ready to assist. And it was great to see the work that the others in the class produced and receive the benefit of their perspectives.
-
Had so much fun. I loved how much I was able to create in one session, and now inspired to give it a go at home and come back for all the other workshops. Thank you so much Kim
-
I learned a lot and got lots of time to explore this type of printing. The information provided is good and all questions are answered. It's nice you get to freedom to explore, not rigid as some workshops can be. The group was the perfect size and the cake was delicious.
-
I knew nothing about gel printing so [this workshop] was all an eye-opener. I enjoyed playing with the colour and the gel plate; also seeing how the paper tears resulted in those mountain/sea / landscape-type prints. Very relaxing also; a great way to spend a Saturday.
-
I love the way that all your workshops are run efficiently with everything well set up. You are incredibly generous with both resources and time spent with each of us. It was inspiring to see everyone's work whether it was just through play, proofing or the finished product.
-
Loved spending the first day of this highly recommended course learning techniques and letting my imagination run free, experimenting with printed textures and impressions. This prepared me well for the second day, where I focused on using these skills to build and create my own original project. Loved every minute of this particular weekend. Could easily spend another day absorbing the knowledge and skills from Kim. Wonderful atmosphere and a great way to meet new people and just unwind.
-
I have researched a fair bit regarding doing a linocut course and wasn't sure how long to sign up. One day, one week, one month? Kim's course was absolutely perfect. I learnt everything I needed to know about lino printing so I can get started in my own little studio without being completely overwhelmed by the process. I understand this is just the beginning, hence the 101 tag. And what a fabulous beginning! Kim is incredibly experienced and talented at what she does. Kim gave us the exact information and knowledge that we needed. I loved every minute of this course and the setting is just so serene. I will be coming back for the cake as well.
-
Thanks for organising this private workshop for three of us. It was practical and we came away with 2 books. You are a patient, generous and inspiring teacher. Great resources and handouts. We have already bought one of the books and ordered thread and tools. Cant wait to get back to NZ and start making books. Oh and thanks for the cake.
-
The workshop was excellent. Well designed and paced with a good mix of 'theory' and practical work. We came away with new skills, some great work and the confidence to give it a go. NZ flora watch out here we come. Thanks Kim for an excellent and inspiring day. And of course your signature the cake....
-
Thoroughly enjoyed my day with Kim at her Eco Printing on Paper workshop. We started on time and worked at a relaxed pace throughout the day with Kim imparting loads of information along the way. This was additional to the comprehensive notes that were awaiting us upon arrival. Kim's knowledge and experience is extensive and she is more than generous with her sharing. While the atmosphere in the studio was relaxed and comfortable we all accomplished what Kim had set without being rushed. If a class with Kim is on your "bucket list" go and do it because you most certainly will enjoy your time with her and you will learn so much. The morning and afternoon tea was yummy. Thank you Kim, I had a really great day. Robyn
-
I love how relaxed you are. Made me feel like any outcome was a great one! I love the surprise element of unwrapping each precious bundle to reveal something I created accidentally and with the help of nature! And I absolutely love your studio space, inspiring, comforting and spacious. Thank you for a wonderful day!
-
A fun day of full of surprises! It was interesting to learn about the different techniques, and I was blown away with the results. Kim shares so much information, it’ll take time to get it all to sink in!! Loved the workshop!
-
Loved how you worked with each individual on the second day to guide their creative processes. [What did you like about the workshop?] The variety of examples and techniques which can be used for embossing. Your willingness to share ALL of your knowledge and even your own art pieces used to create embossing elements. The class size was fantastic also, no real wait to use the press.
-
The day was structured well so that there was a good balance of information & practice. Kim is so encouraging & very generous with her skills, knowledge & materials. She is a great communicator & so inspiring. The workshop atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. It is a beautiful spot to spend a day experimenting with new ways of working & meeting like-minded people. The small touches really add to the enjoyment of the day eg the cake & refreshments; all materials laid out & labelled clearly; good space for each person to work comfortably. Thank you Kim.
-
I loved the integration of hands-on and technical information in a relaxed environment - my best learning style :-). A very generous selection of materials provided. Exceptionally well prepared and organized, fun and inspirational. I now feel motivated to integrate some of what I have gleaned from this workshop with my current artistic endeavours... Oh - and the citrus cake was superb. Thankyou Kim. Look forward to joining you again in a future session.
-
Kim is an excellent teacher and she made the day FUN. It was a good balance of information and hands on, and Kim was available to answer questions and give advise at any stage. I'm hooked and I'm stoked with some of my prints!
-
I’ve done lino printing and embossing workshops with Kim and both are outstanding. Kim is a generous and patient teacher who readily shares her wealth of knowledge about the processes. The studio is inspiring in itself with all the materials you could possibly want and lots of artwork to inspire. I can’t wait to do my next workshop!
-
As usual, I came away feeling I had the best embossing experience, in all its forms, as I could have wished for. Thorough presentation of the process and materials as well as pitfalls to watch out for. Exhaustive content and problem solving experiences were allowed for. Stimulating content and I came away thinking about how I could use the techniques and an idea of where to take the process next.
-
Another amazing class, sorry we’re so far away! Was great that with such a small class there was plenty of time to use the press. So many ideas, techniques and possibilities, looking forward to exploring more at home.
-
I liked that it was only a small group, and although this is also because of the use of the presses, it certainly made it a more intimate and personal experience. [I liked] The chance to learn something new and intriguing. The opportunity to use the presses to create something I couldn't do at home. The chance to enhance my own work with a new method.
-
Was great that with such a small class there was plenty of time to use the press. So many ideas, techniques and possibilities, looking forward to exploring more at home
-
This is just perfect! If you want to learn how to really use the Gel-Plate -> Take this course! This is the best choice, you will not regret it for sure. Thank you, Kim.
-
Just a huge thank you. Will live long in my happy memories. [What did you like about hte workshop] Everything! Kim's warmth and generosity, her clear instructions, freedom of choice, just enough help, loads of skills taught to take our practice beyond the workshop, relaxed vibe, a fabulous experience
-
I loved the opportunity to explore ideas from the initial [Metal Plate etching] class. It’s a great idea and I look forward to future workshops. Such a pleasure to spend the weekend with a great group of people in Kim’s fabulous studio. Thank you for another great etching experience.
-
I really enjoyed the workshop as we were able to create some lovely work and varied during the two days. I was surprised with the results of the cut outs method as it seems so simple but is so effective. And the collograph method enabled such complex images with interesting textures and tones.
-
I'm glad to have Kim's first new workshop. Everything u have for us was perfect. Very well organised. I had so much fun and great experience. I love it. I would recommended to you all as long u happy with messy. I would come back again.
-
This is the second workshop I have done and both have been thoroughly enjoyable and informative. Kim is a great teacher. I will definitely be back for more. [The workshop was] very informative. It was lots of fun and I feel I learnt a lot. No pressure to produce a perfect outcome. Good company and good CAKE!
-
I absolutely loved the gel plate workshop with Kim! It's my second time coming back and to a workshop with Kim. I love the small group atmosphere, the environment (Kim's studio is inspiring and so it the view!), Kim's amazing examples of her own gel plate art, and the rad quotes in her studio toilet!
-
Kim was affirming, and clearly passionate about her art. And I appreciated her help and suggestions for an art project I will be organising for a rural school in Cambodia.
-
This workshop opened a gate unto my intuitive and abstract seeking self. I loved the small classes, the encouragement to be free and express myself, and learning from someone I admire.
-
Wow!!! The Simply Folded Artists Books workshop was the most enjoyable making weekend. Kim’s preparation of materials, notes and references made for a smooth delivery of instruction to produce models of a variety of wonderful artists books. She ensured that the daily program was flexible to meet student needs. After learning the constructions each day, there was time to make our choice of book again using papers, tools and materials provided. Fun, laughter and books. This area of the tactile arts feeds my happy place.
-
Kim approaches every workshop with enthusiasm and professionalism. She teaches the ‘standard’ print process, whilst also being very supportive of play, experimentation and the development of the student’s own style.
-
Wonderful class great instruction plenty of resources and space.
-
I loved your generosity to share your knowledge, experience & skills plus non judgmental approach to everyone’s work. Love, love the “yes” approach. Thanks so much Kim & I’m hooked on experimenting more with Cyanotype.
-
[What did you like about this workshop?] Kims expertise about cyanotype. Kims teaching style, keen to get us exploring, very encouraging. I loved that the workshop is so immersive and consuming. Cant think about anything else for the day. I loved that it was so inspiring, giving us lots to go on with. Lots of possibilities. Your workshops are amazing Kim. Thank you so very much.
-
I attended the Cyanotype workshop and loved it. Kim runs a great workshop in a beautiful place. She provides lots of information face to face and in hand outs. Lots of examples are shown and the process is shown step by step. She gives lots of room to try your own thing and you go home with some lovely work. Kim also provided some lovely morning and afternoon tea. I could highly recommend this workshop and I definetly will be back to do some of the other workshops she runs or maybe even another cyanotype workshop. I am definetly hooked. Thank you!
-
I really enjoyed the workshop, and would love to do another. Spending the day creating art, in beautiful countryside, with like minded people, is a special experience. Kim is a knowledgeable and gentle tutor, and encouraged us all to create some fabulous prints.
-
[The workshop} surpassed my expectations and I was excited before I got there! I found the outcomes extraordinary. I am definitely keen to experiment further. You are a very inspiring person Kim. Thank you.
-
Kim is a great teacher and her work is really inspiring. This workshop was amazing because everything about eco-printing is so unexpected. Unwrapping those bundles was so exciting, as you didn't know what you would get - some lovely surprises!
-
[What did you like about the workshop?] It was fun and interactive in a supportive encouraging environment. It stretched my mind in a good way, encouraging me to 'release the attachment to the outcome' and to keep trying new things working with and enjoying the process and not being solely focused on the outcome. Thank you. I will be back for another workshop
-
[What did you like about the workshop] Beautiful studio space, generous access to resources and materials, clear and insightful instruction and explanations of processes, excellent learning materials and wonderful sharing of ideas from Kim and fellow students. I feel quite challenged by in person workshops and find it difficult to settle into the creative process. However, having reflected overnight, I know I have learned more than I realised and the experience has inspired lots of new ideas I am looking forward to trying.
-
This particular workshop was a very relaxing experience. Lots of material to choose. Explained very easily. Lots of laughter and I learnt heaps and masses of tips. Overall fantastic.
-
Kim provided the safest space to learn and then explore. She was incredibly generous with sharing her knowledge, her instruction was delivered clearly, with loads of energy and positivity. I completed the weekend with the confidence to continue exploring the technique at home. Thanks so much Kim for a great weekend, I'll be back!
-
"I am a repeat attender" this is my second course with Kim Herringe and I feel great. I have the knowledge I need to create new and exciting artwork. I loved the etching course and I appreciate the contemporary approach able to repeat the process at home. I am filled with inspiration and would recommend Kim's courses.
-
probably the best workshop I have ever been too (and I have been to a lot). Kim is welcoming and makes you feel relaxed from the start. extremely well organised, plenty of working space. great step by step notes. always receptive to questions. looking forward to my next workshop. and the morning tea was excellent.
-
We had a great time! I felt like I started back on the horse again and I learnt a great deal from doing the circuit technique and the mountain layering. I have also been thinking of new experiments. I will definitely be doing more in this space!
Private Tuition, Gel Plate Monoprinting Beyond the Basics -
I have now completed 5 workshops/courses with Kim both face to face and online. As always it was fabulous! Information and resources are really well presented, Kim provides a great balance of instruction/guidance/ideas and freedom to explore your own ideas and to move in new directions
-
Great learning experience, with Kim more than happy to answer questions on other printmaking workshops, tools and information. Small numbers. Everything needed was provided. Clear concise instruction.
-
The Embossing workshop was just fabulous. Kim is an amazing teacher and I’m always stunned by the how much of her technique and knowledge she is willing to share with students. This weekend workshop was my 11th with Kim….proud to be ‘Repeat Offender’, and can’t wait for my 12th.
-
Congratulations on your cyanotype online workshop, one of the best workshops I've ever done and I have participated in quite a few! Your gel plate monoprinting was also excellent. The amount of time you have spent creating them is astounding. Just when I was losing confidence in the quality of online instruction, you have definitely restored my faith in the art world in general. Both workshops are clearly laid out, easy to follow and no details are left out. A rare occurrence indeed. Thank you.
-
I absolutely loved the online gel printing workshop. The self-paced format was perfect for me to work through the lessons at my own speed. The videos were easy to follow, and each lesson was thoughtfully designed. Kim provided clear instructions and offered useful techniques that made the process so much fun!
-
The online cyanotype workshop was absolutely brilliant! It was well-organized, informative, and engaging from start to finish. I learned a lot about this unique printing process and would highly recommend it to anyone interested. Kim is an excellent instructor!
-
Had been dying to try gel plate printing but felt I needed guidance. Kim is an excellent tutor and the workshop was lots of fun. I was very relaxed (often this is not the case at a workshop!) and produced lots of prints that I love. Absolutely everything you need is provided, which is great. Can't wait to go again.
-
The warmth and kindness of Kim is reflected in everyone who attends her studio. Kim has created a beautiful space in which to explore print making techniques and individual artistic style. Wednesday’s have become my favourite day of the week! [What did you like about the classes?] Relaxed & friendly. Enjoy social aspect. Opportunity to see other people’s variety of work. Doing own work, at own pace, and receiving guidance as needed and/or when requested.
-
LOVE what this group stands for and I am eternally grateful for being able to be a part of something so wonderful! The BEST thing for me about the classes is the sharing the space with the gorgeous group of women who share this time with me. Friendships are being formed over the love of creativity and we are all so very different which makes it more special. Kim holds for each of us such a wonderful, safe and very supportive space where we can learn and fall and pick ourselves up and grow with no judgement.
-
[What did you like about the workshop?] Everything, The wonderful results from the first attempts of embossing by hand early in the course inspired us all. The resources available help gave us plenty of variety depending on our individual art style. The two presses we used in the later embossing attempts gave us perfect impressions. Kim inspires and encourages by mentoring us in a very personable way taking into account each students needs, experience and style. Thank You wholeheartedly Kim.
-
I'm so happy to come to her very first embossing Workshop. The best weekend I have had. Kim always there when I need help. She there. I have been many Kim's workshops and she is the best teacher.
-
Loved the size of the class,.. all of us received plenty of individual attention. I can appreciate the time you must put in to prepare these workshops for your students.
-
Kim's workshop space is inviting, spacious and inspiring as she is too. Such a picturesque, serene and leafy place to get creative especially as we were doing a botanical workshop. Most importantly, Kim briefed us on all aspects of taking the gelprinting process beyond the basics before we put ink to the plate. We were also given valuable information and resource handouts. I am looking forward to now producing multilayered prints with intention!
-
Thanks for another creative day of play and getting closer to letting go of attachment to outcomes. Your encouragement to try, to explore and to find artistic qualities in our products wraps around the group as the techniques become familiar. The class closes with the joyful sharing of the print products and a very happy weariness of a day we’ll spent in Kim’s studio.
-
[] I liked that you were so well prepared and that it was only a small group so plenty of hands-on time ... and as much instruction as was needed by the individual. It is a lot clearer in my head now as to the order of things. p.s. The gf cake was pretty good too 🙂 Very generous with the materials used on the day. The variety of paper, paints and objects to use were varied and abundant, giving us plenty to test our skills.
-
I love Kim's workshops and have done several. Well planned and structured with great background information. The notes that we received has all the information you need to make the day a great success! Every minute is perfectly planned to enable the student to get the most benefit from the class.
-
Absolutely everything was well thought out and conducted professionally, but in a manner that made me feel immediately welcome and included. A rare and wonderful combination. Exceptional communication prior, during and post workshop. Great studio set up with a large variety of tools and paints to try. Clear, professional instruction delivered in friendly and relaxed manner. Supportive and encouraging - let go of the outcome, there are no mistakes.
-
Kim, thank you once again for the opportunity to take me out of my ordinary and into the extraordinary world of fun, learning and creativity that you organise and deliver. Such a happy and well organised fun parlour….I mean ‘creating’ space!
-
Kim puts everyone at ease from welcome to farewell with her warm relaxed manner and encouraging teaching style in a studio of delights. We enjoyed a day of learning through Exploratory play. I’m keen to follow up with the next class.
-
Thank you so much for putting together a professional, easy to follow online course!I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the Cyanotype series and look forward to your advanced course.
-
The workshop covered all the basics in an easy to understand format. I was able to get all the information I needed to be able to print Cyanotype at home. The content was structured enough that I was able to replay any sections that I wanted to repeat easily.
-
I found your way of structuring the course and the demonstrations very clear and easy to follow. The additional references to information about papers for example was also useful. I enjoyed the bonus modules - I loved seeing the work you have done on silk. And the wet cyanotype one too - the unpredictable nature of this process is exciting.
-
I have just finished Kim's Eco Printing workshop. This was my first time cooking with plants for dye and printing and I was impressed with Kim's depth of knowledge, the structure of the workshop and the amount we learnt by doing the practical work in the workshop. Kim has a lovely workshop flow where you learn by doing but don't feel rushed. At the end of the day you have examples to take home with extensive notes so you can replicate the processes at home. The small workshop size meant we could all ask questions when we thought of them and not wait. A fantastic day.
-
kim’s presentation was excellent, her knowledge and passion very much on show. It is well set out. I like the divisions of sections, easy to go back to instead of having to skip through content to get to a part that one may wish to rewatch. The Studio is a special place, full of inspiration and knowledge! Kim is an enthusiastic teacher, happy to share her talent and knowledge.
-
[What did you like most about the workshop?] It was very comprehensive and easy to follow. Lots of ideas for further use and variations on the theme. It was good value for money.
-
What a warm welcoming teacher enabling students to enjoy the process, to achieve pleasing outcomes and to continue to practise the skills at home with a wealth of resource information. Thank you Kim. I’ll be back. 😁
-
It was a great day, very informative while still being not rushed through any of the process. Great/clear instruction about the process and outcome and troubleshooting.
-
A thank you to you Kim. I leave your workshop feeling so confident and positive about wanting to continue with this art and can see it used in many areas of my art practice. [What did you like about the workshop?] All the equipment I needed was there to start. Great choice of samples to choose from to suit experience and time. Each process was explained and demonstrated. Handouts to follow up with... tips, contacts. On hand with advice to solve issues. Good size group. Relaxed atmosphere, Delicious cake...mmm.
-
Great to share space with other keen individuals. [What did you like about the workshop?] How super well organised it was and how generous you are with sharing your knowledge, experience and techniques.
-
The Studio is an inspiring space that allows for creativity with no judgement or barriers. It's a safe space. There is a logical process in how the workshop is presented which allows for building on what was previously explored. Kim is a wonderful teacher. Bright, cheery and motivating. Kim is very good in explaining processes with visual examples providing very clear notes and resources and is very supportive of other artists through acknowledging their work and expertise. The small group of 6 people in a class allows for intimacy, meeting new people and affording plenty of workspace for each individual to play.
-
I can see the connection between my love of fibre arts and this sort of printing. I think it is almost an extension of one part of the craft to another. Fascinating experiment with plants and different mordants. Really enjoyed the whole day and felt connected to the experience. Your teaching style suites my learning style. You were well prepared and happily stopped to answer questions at the relevant spot. Not a “ wait till later” response. Clear instructions and explanations. Handouts to take home very relevant and helpful as there was such a lot of information to absorb.
-
Thanks once again for an amazing day full of insight and wisdom! I feel armed with all the information and knowledge I need to explore eco-printing at home using all the bounty from my farm. A wonderful day Kim!
-
Kim’s workshops are brilliant for sparking a fresh creative direction and enriching your current arts practice. As a fairly experienced printmaker I truly appreciated her interdisciplinary approach and illuminating style. After completing two workshops I find my own practice has been enriched and extended. Joy! If you’re in need of inspiration infused with information and expertise, then I highly recommend working with Kim!
-
If you are looking for a monoprinting class in a beautiful peaceful setting then this is well worth investigating. Kim's studio is spacious, airy and set up for printing, with plenty of room to create along with like minded students. The whole day workshop allows for plenty of time to experiment, share discoveries with others, and to watch demonstrations that clearly explain the printing processes involved. Kim's online classes are valuable if you can't make it to beautiful Maleny, but a face to face class is ideal if a bit of motivation is what you need to try a new process and to have your questions answered straight away.
-
Thank you so much Kim! I will 100% be back for another workshop - I have my eye on gelli printing, book binding and more! [I like] How beautifully organised everything was, how well the day flowed, the amazing gluten free cake, the views and of course - our generous and wonderful teacher Kim!
-
I have engaged in many workshops over the years, but this one was by far, the best I have experienced. Kim’s level of organisation is second to none - with nothing forgotten and even the smallest detail considered.. This workshop has inspired me to re-engage with my creative side and I have come away feeling that I can truly continue this journey at home with ease. I absolutely loved unwrapping the bundles…. the thrill of discovering what had been created in the ‘cook’ was intoxicating. Thank you, Kim!
-
I thought Kim was an excellent tutor, pitched beautifully and at the right pace so that students could absorb the information. Delivered with grace and good humour, a delightful day. The workshop was well organised and was in depth. It was delivered in a way that the technicalities could be absorbed. It was comprehensive and fun.
-
Kim’s etching workshop was really well organized and resourced with access to quality materials and hardware. Small group ensured maximum information sharing and very positive outcomes.
-
You run a well organised workshop, allowing us to work at our own pace but still giving appropriate attention to all students. Well organised. Felt very welcome. So willing to help Kim so thank you. In depth knowledge and willing to share.
-
[What did you like about the workshop?] the hands-on-ness :). the people, the teacher :). the food! I really love the fact that beginners and 'experienced' artists can learn and share together - that's lovely
-
Thanks Kim, I had a truly wonderful workshop day with you all, learning new things, being with other creatives. A day of art making pleasure. l love working with the nature botanical aspect of this art form. Kim you are a very giving teacher with your years of knowledge.
-
Thank you Kim for yet another awesome workshop on the wonderland that is Eco-printing. I always appreciate your generous teaching style & your vast experience so kindly shared. I can’t wait to get some pots on the boil for more experimenting with a myriad of colourful botanicals & natural dyes. The excitement of the magical ‘big reveal’ after unbinding the cooked packages were some of my favourite moments of the day Such a delight to hear the joyful “ohs & ahs” of the other workshop participants as we witnessed our eco-prints unfold! Eco-printing gives me a new dimension to capture the beauty of nature - it really is an exciting & exquisite process - really enjoyable, workshop which I would do again & again - THANKS Kim
-
Kim’s passion & love of creating beautiful art is contagious. Thankyou for giving me the confidence to embrace my creative side again, after a very long time! I really appreciated Kim’s detailed explanation of the process of gel plate printing. It was really interesting to not think about the outcome & trust the technique… often resulting in a wonderful surprise!! Kim’s a patient, highly skilled artist & teacher. I loved every minute of this workshop!
-
It is always a wonderful experience to spend time engaging with other creative individuals in your inspirational studio space. Instructions and information given are clear, positive and encouraging. I will return. It was a positive and educational experience all round.
-
It was a very enjoyable weekend, very creatively satisfying. I can use what I learnt in this workshop to turn the prints I've made into a book.
-
I think your workshops are very worthwhile because most of your activities are difficult to do without professional help. Your skills as a teacher help to make all students successful and happy with results.
-
[what did you like about the workshop] Relaxed friendly and supportive atmosphere Kim went above and beyond to guide explain and look after us all even providing yummy cake
-
Kim's workshops are always a great way to spend a day immersing yourself in creative printing. I find her studio a very relaxing place to learn and play and always feel inspired after spending a day here. The workshops are well organised and you have plenty of space and time to create.
-
[What did you like about the workshop] friendly small group but most of all, your infinite patience, understanding and encouragement not to give up! I needed a lot of help and i am so grateful. You are a fantastic educator and an awesome person. Thank you
-
Kim's workshops are always fun & very well organised, and in this my 4th reduction lino workshop I really enjoyed consolidating existing skills and developing new ones. I now feel confident to continue developing my practice. Thanks Kim.
-
Very enjoyable, creative workshop, your enthusiasm for printing really shone through! I liked that your expertise and knowledge on the subject was thoroughly passed on to the students both in person and on the worksheets, thank you for a great day out!
-
[What did you like about the workshop] The lovely art space with so much to look at and explore. Kim's friendliness and welcome. Kim's sharing of knowledge, pitched and paced just right for newbies. The CAKE! The support and encouragement from Kim, and the other participants made it a really satisfying experience. We laughed and shared and let go, and just...played!
-
This is the second time I had attended this workshop. I had done a small amount of cyanotype at home but was having no success with the wet cyanotype process. Kim worked out what I was doing wrong and soon had me making lovely wet cyanotypes, not only during the workshop, but now at home as well. Thank you Kim! I would love to see this workshop combined with a gel print workshop. And then a bookmaking workshop.... Maybe a long weekend of workshops? Bliss!!
-
Kim had put a lot of thought and planning into set-up and preparation for the workshop. Because the timing had been so carefully allocated and instructions were clear the day proceeded smoothly and a lot was achieved. Unwrapping our bundles revealed the wonderful interactions of the eco printing process. The colours and patterns produced were amazing. The workshop lead me to discover new and creative pathways that I am interested to explore. Another layer of interest has been added to the way I look at my native garden. Thank you Kim for a wonderful day and for so generously sharing your knowledge. You have ignited a new interest.
-
I found Kim's Gelli Plate Beyond the Basics workshop very informative. The studio is well appointed and Kim is very generous with sharing her skills, knowledge and resources. I highly recommend this workshop.
-
The day was a nice mix of learning, talking, watching but mostly plenty of time to give cyanotypes a go. I found it inspiring to be amongst other creative people. Kim's passion, warmth and knowledge provided a welcoming learning space to become excited and open to giving things a go. Spending time in her gorgeous art studio was pure art therapy in itself. A light and sunny space with books galore, lots of resources and supplies, beautifully set out work stations, a homemade cake and choice of teas and coffees.
-
I loved Kim's obvious talent and passion for the subject, I would jump at the chance to do another class with her, she's amazingly talented and so happy to share her talent and knowledge. [The workshop was a] Very relaxed pace, loved the background information about the history of the process. Kim's enthusiasm for cyanotype was infectious and we definitely caught the bug. Beautiful setting (and studio ). Lots of opportunities to try different materials and techniques, feeling very inspired afterwards!
-
[What did you like about the workshop] Clear instructions, easy to understand, .most of all your enthusiasm and time you spent with each of us to make sure we understood the process and how much fun geli printing can be. One of the best workshops I've attended. All round it was a very good workshop, I congratulate you for a well run, interesting, productive, full filling and happy workshop. I'm still on a high.
-
Kim is exceedingly generous in sharing her knowledge about the wonderful process of gel pad printing - and this makes the workshops a delight.
-
An unmissable day. . Kim’s work is inspiring and her focus and enthusiasm is infectious. I can’t wait to continue and build on the experience.
-
It was an excellent workshop, well organised and presented and would strongly recommend the workshop for anyone interested in Gelli plate printing.
-
I’d only recently even thought about linocut but decided to give it a go. I was very happy I did! The process was very new to me but I really enjoyed the workshop and everything was well explained. I very happy with the final print outcome.
-
From arrival to departure, Kim put everyone at ease. All skill levels were attended with encouraging enquires and suggestions based on student ideas. Ever alert, Kim met our needs with quick responses with an appropriate tool or medium or direction.. Kim has a comfortable and inspiring workroom which is extensively resourced and which left no doubt about her love of and passion for her craft and for promoting it through her joyful teaching.
-
Kim is as beautiful as her prints. I found the workshop very inspiring and relaxing. Connecting with others through nature by using leaves and other materials out of Kim’s beautiful garden. A fantastic workshop in a wonderfully held space. Beautiful location, very spacious and well organised. Materials supplied were prolific, absolutely no limits on any materials that was supplied. Kim shared care and attention to every participant and gave adequate space for questions and concerns. Thank you for a rich and fascinating well presented workshop and sharing your knowledge with us Kim.
-
Just thanks for everything Kim. A great day. I came home bursting with ideas and thoughts. Welcoming. Supportive. Great teaching and demonstrations. Great workshop conditions. Learnt a huge amount. Kindness and generosity in offering cake tea coffee etc. friendly. Non threatening and non competitive.
-
As another student commented 'Kim's workshops are like a day spa for artists'. Great venue, wonderful teacher, fascinating subject and yummy cake!
-
Fabulous and fun day with Kim and five other ladies creating eco prints from botanicals. Even though the process is unpredictable I was thrilled with the results we achieved. Came away with so much information and knowledge to play at home with the help of my garden and exciting to explore the possible cross over use of this type of printmaking with other arts forms and disciplines. Thank you Kim for enlightening and enjoyable experience!
-
Everything you ever wanted to know about eco-printing was covered - even the things you didn't know you needed to know. All of this was accomplished in the time allocated because of Kim's preparation before the class, which must have taken her hours, so that we could reap the benefits without feeling time pressured. I might have enjoyed a workshop more but I can't recall any! Hands down the best.
-
[What did you like about the workshop?] Learning new skills and practising them. During this process Kim is always on hand to answer any questions. Releasing the outcome is a definite with this type of workshop as we don’t know what will happen in the ‘cooking’ process. Also is always nice meeting a group of like minded ladies and sharing the day with them.
-
Kim's special attention to the details and de-mystifying the complexities surrounding precision and construction of a whole range of special treasure boxes for all purposes. And we were able to complete and take home a wonderful example of those teachings. Great fun and Kim is a truly gifted and generous teacher and I am looking forward to being involved with many more of Kim's workshops
-
Kim was great and tailored our time to the area that I was interested in for my current studies. She gave clear directions where she demonstrated the process and then I did the process by myself. Kim also gave me interesting research from the history of this process and current artists using techniques and styles I am interested in exploring. The one on one workshop allowed me to learn a lot of information in a short time and not feel overwhelmed.
Cyanotype Private Tuition -
I was very excited when Kim introduced the Treasure Boxes workshop as I had done almost every other workshop offered. I loved this weekend workshop. Such a well planned, interesting and informative course. It has presented me with so many new uses for the many and varied prints I have created in and following the other workshops. Kim is such a patient, knowledgeable and generous teacher. She has a real gift, not only as an artist, but in the unique way she unselfishly imparts and shares her vast experience, research and talent.
-
Kim creates a really friendly and supportive group experience, and nothing is "wrong", lots of positive vibes to keep trying new textures/feathers, stencils, elastic bands etc. I look forward to booking in my 2nd workshop.
-
I have now done a few of Kim's workshops and have loved them all! I love her creativity, but also her ability to teach clearly and simply. The days are always extremely well organised so that we can get straight into learning and experiencing the wonder of seeing her completed works, and the joy of trying new things for ourselves. I always come home feeling happy and inspired. Thank you Kim.
-
It was a truly wonderful day. Learnt so much while having heaps of fun. And, came away with so many pieces of art that I am extremely happy with. I was not expecting to achieve so much.
-
Probably the best art workshop I've ever attended. Kim is a great teacher - passionate about printing, and generous with her knowledge and resources. The studio is bright and spacious. The day was well-paced, and I was amazed at how many prints we were able to create in one day. I'm looking forward to learning more about gel plate printing at Kim's Beyond Basics workshop!
-
[I liked] The wonderful presentation, demonstration, explanation and inspiration provided by Kim. The focus on the process and the experience over the outcome gave me freedom to experiment with no pressure or expectation. I loved the atmosphere of welcome and inclusion, acceptance of all participants regardless of prior experience or level of skill. It was a very friendly and supportive group. Thankyou Kim, I learnt a lot and had fun at the same time. The studio was a peaceful creative, well organised space with a fantastic location and view. I'll be back. 🙂
-
Kim is an amazing tutor. Extremely well organised. She remains calm all the time. Kim is extremely knowledgeable on all her printmaking crafts and it is a delight to be Student of her classes.
-
Kim’s studio is a fabulous space for workshops. Keeping the class number to 5 meant plenty of work space and personal attention. Kim is a very good teacher, patient, well paced and very clear with excellent preparation and handouts. The materials we had to play with was also very generous. We came away with so many different styles of book to play with and lots of ideas. It has inspired me to work further with the gel press but also to try new ways of incorporating my art into folded books. A wonderful way to spend a weekend, and a great opportunity to come to Maleny.
-
Creative juices flow so easily. Relaxing and lovely venue
-
Kim’s workshop was informative and fun. I really enjoyed learning the technique, and can’t wait to continue playing.
-
I loved learning about the history of cyanotype and its creative possibilities. Seeing previous work and work on line was really inspiring. The atmosphere was great, really relaxed and very well organised. I also appreciated the way Kim embraced the knowledge of participants who had a background in art and teaching but was so encouraging to those of us who just wanted to learn a creative process.
-
This is the first art workshop I have attended. I have not dabbled in art so was unsure about my abilities. I was attracted to the Cyanotype workshop as it didn’t require you to be able to draw or paint. I loved everything about the course. It was extremely well organised, easy to follow and Kim is an excellent teacher. I enjoyed the interaction with the other students and the sharing of ideas plus the results were almost instantaneous. I can’t wait to explore Cyanotype more by myself and would love to participate in another of Kims workshop. Thank you to Kim for making this such a worthwhile and enjoyable day. This has really whetted my appetite to not only explore Cyanotype but also other types of art. Communication from Kim was fantastic.
-
The timing for delivery of information [during the workshop] and having hands on was just right. Enjoyed seeing what is possible from viewing artists’ works at the end of the day. Lovely group with calm energy.
-
The studio is just a wonderful, welcoming space & Kim delivers a fun, productive, informative workshop but you learn so much. The encouragement to just give anything a go makes it relaxed and fun. I would encourage anyone even slightly interested in cyanotype, to go to one of Kim's workshops. You can do as much or as little as you like, try things, talk about things, and learn lots. It's an easy process, not messy, and you have results in a short time.......limited only by your imagination !
-
Amazing instruction and demonstration... then FREEDOM to explore and experiment. As always EXCEPTIONAL. Highly recommend.
-
Another great workshop with Kim! It was a fun day shared with some fab ladies, all welcoming, curious and creative.. Kim was a wonderfully, informative and enthusiastic tutor. The day was relaxed and I learnt loads about the process. Thanks so much Kim!
-
[What did you like about the workshop?] Kim’s wonderful teaching, infectious joy for printmaking and her wonderful resources… I loved my time in her workshop. Being in Kim’s studio is very inspiring and I loved the play element in the workshop.
-
[What did you like about the workshop] All of it! I can now go away and really start combining this technique with others. I like the fact that the drawing/tracing carving side of the process is something I can pick up and put down and come back to.....so I could possibly even do some of this in the evenings on work days.
-
This workshop is fantastic. It has the right level of detail for one day and goes at a good pace. Kim is an excellent teacher who knows her craft inside and out. The class size is small and the set up allows students to work independently with many options to try different tools and methods.
-
Content was beautifully taught, lots of actual prints and plates to look at. You are very skilled in the techniques and also encouraging us to do our own thing and push us to experiment. Thank you so very much Kim.
-
The professionalism of the organisation is impeccable both in the development of the workshop, the delivery and the physical space. Plus the generous sharing of decades of printing skills and knowledge. It was very appreciated the group number was low capped at 6. What a luxury.
-
As before, I like that besides my lunch I don't have to bring anything. Best of all is Kim's encouragement and warm generosity in sharing her skills and experience. Due to the small number of students in the group there is time over the course of the day for one-on-one moments where questions about individual pieces or techniques are answered. It's always inspiring to see other student's work, the colours and material selections and combinations used.
-
My husband and I, we enjoyed and valued Kim's lovely nature and wealth of knowledge. The playful and experimental nature of the process allowed us to have fun from the beginning to the end of the workshop and opened up a new world of mark making and possibilities. Thanks for sharing such a beautiful, fun process .
-
This is my third course with Kim... it keeps getting better and better. Highly recommend Kim as an artist, teacher and story teller.
-
Unlock your creativity with this brilliant workshop. You don’t need to have training- just a willingness to give it a go. Kim is a highly experienced, thoughtful teacher who guides you through each technique, giving you the freedom to explore and discover. I had so much fun and cannot recommend This workshop enough. Gel printing is something you can do at home, without a press or other fancy equipment, but giving you a finished, high quality result. I am really excited to be able to get back into printmaking. Thank you!
-
Kim is so giving with her information and made the learning experience very enjoyable. I loved every creative moment.
-
I always enjoy the lovely welcoming atmosphere. I loved the fact that everyone had different ideas and was very encouraging and positive. Your explanation at the beginning of the session was excellent and bang packed with information and ideas. You always give plenty of advice and encouragement and always leave me with the ‘can’t wait to come back and do some more’ feeling. Thanks Kim, another brilliant day.
-
I liked the Encouragement, Fellow students-positive feel, Generosity of information and Learnt heaps [in this workshop]. Well done Kim, Wonderful experience
-
Kim's generosity in sharing knowledge, her encouragement and beautiful spirit make her workshops a delightful experience that continues to inspire me long after the session. My creative journey becomes more personal and enriched each time I work with her. Kindness and blessings Roxanne
-
Another wonderful workshop with Kim. We learned so much and take that knowledge home with excellent notes and our special pieces of art. Always a very sociable and happy day. Thank you Kim
-
Kim is such a knowledgeable, talented, enthusiastic teacher. It was such a pleasure to be guided by Kim through her well organised workshop. Not having to source materials made for a great day with delicious chocolate cake an added bonus. I loved the varied results we all got- a super day, thanks Kim.
-
[I liked] getting to try different practical eco-printing examples. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on eco-printing, I look forward to exploring this more!
-
Great explanations/handouts of the Eco process and the clear and informative discussion from Kim. I was extremely happy with the amount of prints we achieved and there were 4 different techniques to attempt and enjoy our own and the other workshop members results. The workshop promoted discussion amongst people within the workshop. There were a lot of preparation pre workshop that meant the workshop went smoothly. Thoroughly enjoyed the encouragement from Kim to have a go and the further discussion once our results were unveiled. Thank You!
-
Kim is wonderful explained and much informations we needs. I would recommend you all come for any of her workshops. She is my favourite teacher by far..... It's my 6th times I attended her workshops.
-
In Kim's workshops you really get Kim's passion and enthusiasm for her art making it is infectious. I have done 2 of her workshops now eco printing on paper and Gelatin Plate mono printing and would highly recommend both. I get very inspired from these workshops to bring the techniques learnt into my own art making.
-
I just want to say thank you again, it was great fun and I learnt a lot...although I had done a workshop on this subject before, this one was much more enjoyable, the venue, your tutoring style and the methods you shared were simple and very accesable....it really was most enjoyable and relaxing. I think the very best thing was how you had everything ready, the paper already soaking, the fabric (blankets) all cut up....nothing was difficult or hard...just heaps of fun. [I liked] Your beautiful company and homely friendly studio...how incredibly organised you are....the way you were ready for anything and there was never a feeling that ...omg I don't understand or don't know what to do! I also really appreciated how you helped in a hands on way...tightening the strings and checking to make sure that all was working correctly...that is so reassuring when one is learning something new.
-
I especially loved the learning and sharing of our experience as a group. Kim your knowledge and your enthusiasm for your craft is so infectious. You are very generous sharing so much of your learned experiences with us and this was so appreciated by all there. Your studio is well set up and the space is inviting and has a wonderful welcoming feel as soon at you enter. Congratulations on a well planned and run workshop. You did well to keep use on target and would love to participate in more of your workshops. A bit tired today but still buzzing with excitement and looking forward to the next step.
-
Kim was very well prepared and organised . Kim is amazing with her generosity of knowledge. I think I am addicted to Kim’s workshops!

Barbi ---- "Just loved the excellent results from the 4 different processes which were very well explained by Kim, an excellent tutor! It was a great learning experience. I found releasing the attachment to the outcome a real struggle because i am used to having a vision of the outcome and my art relies on the reproduction and a representation of the subject and an expectation of the end result. But learning to let go of expectations and allow the unpredictable was really good for me so i will definitely do more of your workshops. Thank you
-
What did I like about the workshop? ... Well apart from your huge bank of knowledge Kim, you made it so easy for those of us who haven’t done anything creative for a while. You are patience personified. You enthuse people and make the process very exciting. It was a wonderful day!!!! There was nothing to not like, AND your orange cake was superb!
-
I had an absolute ball in the gel plate workshop. Kim made the day a safe space to explore and have fun!
-
I have just completed a Gel Plate Monoprinting workshop with Kim and throughly enjoyed it. Learnt lots and produced prints that I think are OK for a beginner. The workshop has inspired me to look into this form of printing. This is not the first workshop I have done with Kim and it won’t be the last!
-
A beautiful weekend with positive and encouraging participants. We had a lot of laughs and created some gorgeous pieces. Thanks Kim!
-
Kim is as ever a very comprehensive teacher - while I was off on my own path a little this weekend, I could seen her working with each student in turn, accommodating their particular levels of experience in reduction lino and their individual needs and interests. great workshop and a great outcome for everyone I think.
-
Very informative and enjoyable class - Clear instructions and layout of whole procedure. Loved every minute and best part was opening and unrolling our cooked plant bundles --- Like Xmas presents! Kim is a very accomplished teacher and always ready to help with advice on how to better the process. Thank you for a very enjoyable day.
-
This new eco-printing workshop is another step up and has taken my understanding and confidence to a new level. It was full of information, creativity & chocolate. I highly recommend all Kim's workshops, and this one has given me the inspiration and skills to go ahead and create some of the ideas currently stuck in my brain.
-
I liked all of the [online workshop] demos and seeing the process used to arrive at a finished image. All directions and demos were clear verbally and visually. I really like the Facebook group. It gives a feeling of comradery, which I have fond memories of from art classes in college. Since we can't be together, it's the next best thing. Also, the images are inspirational. I really like the GUIDES you post about what you have done in your studio. These are motivating to continue experimenting.
-
This is a very satisfying introduction to botanical printing. Kim communicates great enthusiasm and love of the work.
-
[The content was] Very well structured, presented well, clear information clear voice good videos, I learnt a lot, I love to be able to go back to the videos when I need.
-
I took Kim Herringe gelli mono printing workshop and thoroughly enjoyed it . This was my first experience with gelli plates .I could easily work with gelli plates thru Kim’s tutorials. Overall excellent teacher! I am waiting to learn more in future .
-
This was a great introductory workshop to Geli Plate printing loved the venue and the class was just the right size so I felt I got more personal instruction.
-
Small group works well and I felt I had plenty of access to your advice. I loved that we were in your workshop and could see your work in progress, and your tools and set up. It was also great that you had so many examples from lots of different artists to show. There's a clear process to follow - Trust the process! : ) I was able to finish my prints at home with no trouble. It was actually good for me to do that a couple of days after the workshop so I could still catch what I was already forgetting.
-
First I met Kim was at Open Studio 2021 this year. And photograph her open day and all her best artwork. Then to document her next workshop was another joyful to learnt and understand on how colour, texture, patterns can mixed together into paper. I finally decided to join myself the workshop today and it was awesome. I wish it's every month hehehe I would've join all of them if it's possible. That's how crazy I am to express that this is the most popular workshop ever! Kim was so communicative and very thorough to explained all the tools and the artwork she done in the past. Inspiring us to open our wings and let it fly high with saturated colours, texture, pattern andddd fun with new friends. We had a blast of joy. So thank you so much and Merry Christmas . See you next year workshop. Kim, you are a legend!!!!
-
Relaxed learning experience where you feel welcome and very well organised in a inspirational setting.
-
Always a wonderful day and I am looking forward to the next one. Loved the welcoming atmosphere and Kim's wonderful knowledge of her subject matter. She is so good at helping you to problem solve and improve your results while not telling you what to do. The resources are excellent and it is just a wonderful day of fun and learning. Also very partial to the orange and almond cake.... thanks Kim.
-
Another fabulous Kim workshop. Such a knowledgeable and giving tutor. A wonderfully satisfying day in every way.
-
Kim has a wonderful relaxed and empathetic teaching style. She is very helpful and encourages the students to try something new. I came away from the workshop not only with a great range of prints, but buzzing with ideas to try at home. ... the studio is light and bright and there is plenty of space for every student.
-
Kim's Lino print workshop is first class. She walked everybody through the technical aspects of reduction lino printing without leaving anyone behind. Her limited class size allowed her to spend time working with beginner printmakers as well as give advice on more difficult or advanced techniques. Every printmaker came away from the class I attended with a set of prints, an understanding of printing ink and papers, an idea of which tools to use and where to get them, and the confidence to go forth and create.
-
Kim, you are an excellent teacher and made your high levels skills and knowledge about printmaking accessible to a newbie like me.. I love the way you bring your whole heartedness, passion and fun to the workshop too.. I got a series of prints I was really happy with despite some challenges. I felt supported but challenged at the same time, which is really important to me in my learning. Thank you.
-
Kim’s workshop explored so much more than I anticipated. Her print making methods were generously explained with great clarity & detail. The weekend workshop was energetic, informative and I left totally inspired. After meeting Kim, I admire her not only as an accomplished artist, but even more as a generous, caring human. I feel fortunate to have stumbled across this little gem, leaving with so many new skills to practice. Look forward to exploring more with Kim next year.
-
The workshop was more than a workshop... it was a healing, therapeutic, positive experience. Makes you realise what you are capabable of. [I liked the] Organised and considered instruction. Encouragement of creativity and experimentation. Skilled planning by Kim to ensure I achieved an amazing end result. Great conversation with diverse and interesting participants.
-
The event was the wonderful, inspiring day that I expected. Kim, you seem to attract wonderful souls to your studio. Every single workshop that I have had the privilege of joining has been populated by positive, enthusiastic folks who want to learn and are generous in their support of their fellow participants. You are not only an excellent teacher but also an amazing psychologist! And the wall in the toilet is inspiring, comforting, and amusing…. as well as an ongoing reminder of the work we humans need to do to ensure health and wellbeing!
-
I loved the relaxed atmosphere and although I didn’t know any of the participants, I felt that I was coming ‘home’ when I arrived and entered your glorious studio. As always, the workshop included safety instructions as well as critical information provided in a clear, logical manner accompanied by examples of work. You are a consummate instructor (teacher) Kim! Other aspects… organisation, space to work, provision of generous notes, tools and materials, comfortable and beautiful surroundings, great resources (books and examples of work), relaxed but purposeful atmosphere, lovely participants, and positive enthusiasm by all as materials were unbundled. WhooHoo! Magic on the mountain.
-
[I liked] the fact that you learnt while enjoying what you were doing. You are a great teacher and I loved being able to experiment with different plants and fabrics/papers. Could easily come again to explore more!
-
The eco-printing workshop was a thoroughly enjoyable experience, delivered with Kim’s obvious passion, knowledge, and excellent teaching. It flowed smoothly with everything technically well prepared; still leaving space for enquiry, creativity, discovery, and happy surprises. Kim's workshop process pays a great deal of attention to the needs and experience of individual participants. Even though we were fully immersed in our creations, everyone was relaxed and friendly, making it a completely delightful day. I certainly am determined to continue my journey with botanical printing. Thank you, Kim!
-
Kim’s generosity in sharing her time and extensive knowledge is second to none. The workshop was absolutely enjoyable in every way.
-
I always have a wonderful time in your workshops. You are super organised, enjoy that you share your work and other printing ideas, your wonderful books, and enjoying lunch together.
-
Kim, it is a huge privilege to visit you in your gorgeous studio and learn from you. I have been fortunate to have enjoyed several sessions with you now... and I have loved every single one of them. It has been wonderful learning new skills and approaches as well as meeting lovely like-minded folks who are also enthusiastic to learn. It feels like 'coming home' to arrive at your studio all ready to be enthralled and launched into a new skill/direction. What did I like about this workshop? - fabulous instructor (generous, enthusiastic, authentic, well-informed, pragmatic, and supportive... with frequent reminders of strategies to ensure physical and psychological well being) - welcoming spacious and totally inspiring studio space in great setting - small group of like-minded folks who were enthusiastic to learn/share, - fellow students a wonderful mix of experienced and emerging artists as well as folks who are just really interested in art and making... and all are made to feel welcomed and valued - fabulous notes (fulsome information re. process, where to acquire etching materials, and where to find examples of work created by practising artists) - great pace and length of teaching/working sessions - awesome tasty and healthy treats - quotations wall in toilet
-
I love how you break down what initially seems like a complex process into very clear and simple steps so that it becomes very achievable. I also love that with my baby press, and some simple supplies I can explore the world of etching - which I always thought would be too hard. I feel so confident using my press now - and really appreciate that you will help us source smaller quantities of materials so we can experiment further without a huge investment of money. It's great to share the creativity of the other students in each group = learning about their art journey and finding out out what inspires them and ignites their passions. Viva la print making!
-
We had a fabulous time, Everything was prepared ready for us to start after Kim demonstrated. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face all day, I just love blue! Kim shares lots of information and resources with students and answers all questions happily. She’s a great educator and now I’ve bought a kit to continue the process at home.
-
Kim’s Studio is a wonderful space to work in. I thoroughly enjoyed the day (which seemed to fly by) and the workshop. Kim was always on hand to offer advice if needed. My fellow workshop participants were a lovely group of ladies, so all in all, a fabulous day!
-
I love the Organic style Kim embraces, where every workshop, no matter how advanced the students might be from previous tutorials, there will always be a serendipitous occurrence/feel in the class, then the Magic/Wow factor happens. Knowledge of medium excellent, generous with tips, and how to improve the print whilst allowing the student their own autonomy and ideas to develop. A Creative, calm work space that Kim runs efficiently, is a place of taking the student outside their "comfort zone" stretching the old mindset, all for a better result. A studio, where WELCOME is a reality. Thank you.
-
I loved the warm welcome, the studio environment (and library), the morning/afternoon tea (Yum!), the great group of participants (all friendly and interesting), and the superb organisation... structured, inclusive and wonderfully supportive teaching with frequent reminders of critical concepts for any artist or indeed human being (nothing right or wrong, just an opportunity to learn; release the attachment to the outcome; stop overthinking and so on). The workshop built onto the introductory online gel plate printing workshop perfectly! The workshop was so well organised. I knew long before arriving that I was going to have a fabulous day... and it was... inspiring, rich in learning, totally supportive and encouraging, with wonderful co-participants. I left to drive home feeling enervated and very clear about what I wanted to accomplish next with gel printing.
-
This (linocut) was my second workshop (first was cyanotype). I wish I could do every workshop Kim has on offer ! Kim is the consummate teacher and so knowledgeable. I’ve got my linocut tools now so off to practice.
-
Soooo much fun and got the ideas coming overtime. No pressure and plenty of serendipity. Bring a sense of adventure, just great and definitely gets the imagination on fire. Look at everything with different ideas and charging sparks. Girl you are a winner… so giving with information and self… a delight and privilege to have been part of such a wonderful day and experience.
-
The cyanotype workshop is a must for any creative wanting to learn a new technique in printmaking. You don't need any experience, come with an open mind and release the attachment to the outcome!
-
Your workshops are always so well organised. You provide enough information without overwhelming me. You provide ample materials and clear guidance every step of the way, and your time management is outstanding! 🙂
-
Had a fabulous time and so much fun Learning lots from Kim. I do have enough information from her. I would recommend to everyone even the first time.
-
Kim went well beyond normal expectations to support a complex image I, as a total novice, wanted. Can't recommend the course enough.
-
The Gel Plate Monoprinting Online Workshop was fantastic, Kim is a warm wonderful teacher, showing each step in a clear concise way! I love that I can go back and replay lessons at my leisure. This workshop is a wealth of information. Great value. I would recommend this workshop to anyone keen on learning gel plate monoprinting.
-
Kim is an excellent teacher and printmaker. Her passion for printmaking is very evident and she willingly shares her process, knowledge, skills and enthusiasm for all things printmaking. Kim's approach to helping me to learn about linocut printing was considered and patient. I would highly recommend Kim's workshops.
-
I loved how professional and encouraging it was to experiment. The techniques were explained really well and all round beautifully laid out.
-
Kim is very generous with her expert knowledge and time. Great workshop - would definitely recommend!
-
I liked your clear and detailed explanations of the process. It is clear that you are mindful of the details a beginner might not pick up unless the steps aren't broken down into small bites and reasons given for why you do things a certain way. Many people who produce instructional videos have voices that are difficult to listen to - yours is easy, conversational and sincere. Your passion for your work and sharing the process is evident in the workshop.
-
Kim has such a genuine passion for printmaking and artists' books that you can’t help but be enthused and engaged. It was a privilege to be able to learn and play in her personal studio space. I really enjoyed the way we were “worked hard,” and made to think how we could apply the many techniques and samples we created to our own art practice. I was so inspired by the end of our 2-day course that I stayed up the next evening until 3am, thinking and planning my future projects.
-
Excellent [workshop] and I had a great time. Great information ! Plus value for money. Good pace pleased with what I came home with.
-
I was really looking forward to the cyanotype workshop but it was even better than I expected. There was a spirit of experimentation and play that made everyone comfortable and happy to share their work. This was a workshop that shows how cyanotype is accessible and easy in everyday life, for those with art experience and even for folk like me who aren't so confident at making things.
-
Kim is lovely and very knowledgeable and shares that knowledge freely. Not all artists can teach but Kim is a great teacher and I found it a very comfortable class to be part of and I certainly enjoyed my day and learnt a lot. I travelled 3 hours to attend a cyanotype class and I wasn't disappointed. I'd highly recommend this class to anyone.
-
I loved making the scarfs, it was the highlight for me. I still enjoyed making the paper printing, which was fabulous too. I would definitely consider doing this again, to try making the scarfs a bit different.
-
It's was so much fun and fantastic day. So much informations I need and I will be definitely back for more new experience workshops. Thanks Kim.
-
Kim is a wonderful tutor full of information on techniques, history, supply sources outlets, alternatives and much more. Kim is warm and engaging in her teaching methods that make you feel very welcomed in her environment which add to the overall learning experience. I found the process for Eco printing was a rather cathartic experience as we scrolled through the table of leaves and dried bark which were our dyes. Then placing these collections at will over our silk and papers, then binding them up tightly for boiling which releases the colours from the plant materials onto our mediums. The anticipation of the unknown print result and colours was exciting to see. Overall it was a wonderful day with a bunch of really lovely people to meet and I had fun learning another new artistic processes.
-
Extremely well presented, very knowledgeable, lots of information with lots of fun. very hands on which is super great. Lovely group of people all have a very good time and learning a new creative art. Every thing was explained extremely well and was all easy to understand.
-
Just walking into the studio gave me a thrill - inspiration in every nook and cranny. Kim has an absolute eye for detail and covered everything we needed for a successful day - an abundance of papers, the best paints, a huge array of materials for print making, and this time the glory of an authentic hand printing press which put the icing on the cake. Every participant left with a smile and a collection of hand made postcards in a beautiful handmade package. Kim is a natural teacher who encourages every student to celebrate their skills.
-
Kim is the most organised and generous teacher I've ever met. She is patient and kind and knows how to help those of us lacking in confidence. She explains every step thoroughly and ensures everyone understands before moving on. She is generous with her materials and knowledge and has a way of making you feel relaxed, even if you think you don't know what you're doing. Her classes are light and joyful and I left feeling inspired and with a beautiful collection of postcards that I'm really proud of.
-
Another memorable learning experience being part of the first group to complete the ‘Notes to Self’ workshop in Kim’s beautiful studio. I found it a very different experience gelli printing onto postcards and the icing on the cake was to print beautiful quotes onto the cards using Kim’s lovely old letterpress. We then printed onto board to create a beautiful little enclosure to keep them in. Kim is an incredible artist and teacher and so very generous in sharing her love of printmaking with her students. She is so creatively inspiring and I value the new skills she has shared with me. I can’t imagine anyone not enjoying every minute of Kim Herringe workshop. Thanks Kim. Can’t wait until the next one!
-
Reignited a passion for mono - printing. Was a simple elegant and spiritual opportunity to creatively express emotion and feeling in a visual way. Thank you Kim as always for sharing this aspect of you art and life journey for the enrichment of others.
-
I really loved your presentation, the clarity in your instructions, your generosity in the giving of information. Each module was so beautifully presented, so easy to follow and therefore, fabulous results for me. Pure delight as I lifted off the paper. I look at leaves very differently. The entire workshop was wonderful, in construction, in the flow of one module to the next, and for the ability to return to any place for further viewing and be able to work with. I also love the colour workshop...after years of struggle with understanding color theory I found my way through each module and have a greater understanding. Bless you and grateful thanks.
-
Thank you Kim. I would thoroughly recommend the online gel plate monoprinting workshop. The modules are easy to navigate and all of Kim's instructions are clear, with lots of additional hints and tips. After watching the video of Kim's studio I can imagine walking in, looking at all the art work, the books on the shelves, listening to the birds and admiring the magnificent view. Pure escapism; and that's before the excitement of learning how to make your own beautiful, crisp, uncluttered prints! Truly wonderful.
-
Fabulous workshop! I enjoyed it very much and highly recommend it to those who would like to learn the technique of Gel Plate printing at home. Thanks Kim!
-
I really enjoyed the workshop. It has inspired me to make my own gelli plates and play with paint and paper.
-
A very well presented workshop, all materials provided. The day just flowed as we worked on our respective silk and paper prints. I was delighted with my first attempts at Eco-printing. Thank you Kim for a most enjoyable experience.
Private Group Eco-prinitng -
Kim is a talented, gentle and warm teacher. Her space is beautiful and welcoming, as is Maggie, the beautiful deerhound! I learnt a lot in this workshop - and really appreciated Kim's knowledge and generosity in sharing her own process and information about materials to get started at home. Kim also shared a lot about other artists, collectives and workshops. I such a wonderful time and feel well-equipped to get started on my own linoprinting journey! Thanks Kim!
-
Thank you Kim for sharing your knowledge and teaching us to have fun and experiment with this exciting process. I like the “ there is no right way or wrong way mantra”…… and any excuse to find another way to add more blue to my life/home. Endless possibilities buzzing around in my head!!
-
Kim is a wonderful teacher, so giving of her knowledge… this is my third workshop with her. Another creative fun filled time, exploring and experimenting. Thank you, Kim
-
I absolutely loved the gelatine plate printing workshop with Kim and would encourage anybody to treat themselves and enrol .
-
Dear Kim, You are a fantastic teacher. The Workshop today has open my eyes about nature and native surrounding our lives. To put it on the gel plate and become an artwork was incredible artwork from your workshops. I've never doing draw nor paint before so to be able to get this opportunity makes the different for my life. This workshop was so special to my heart. Seriously proud of myself. I can't believe that I created a beautiful work. Kim gave us a special frame and we framed the best artwork from today's workshop. Just a spectacular experience. Thank you soooo much! Pretty special today. Kim, you made my day!
-
Kim is an excellent teacher and experimenter of colour, line, shape and texture. A great workshop to inspire you to create your artwork.
-
The space is great, big and inspiring and with excellent light. The amount we covered was perfect for the time we had, although I didn't want it to end! Kim is a fantastic instructor and brilliant artist; generous and patient and she created a very supportive workshop environment for us all. It was absolutely top-notch. Gel plate printing is so much fun, inspiring and open-ended and can be incorporated into other techniques. LOVED every minute.
-
So much wonderful information from Kim and lots and lots of prepared pages for us to play. Such an enjoyable day. This is my second workshop and I plan to attend more. Kim is a wonderful teacher and the day is always bit informative and fun. Thoroughly recommend Kim.
-
I loved the process & found your teaching very clear & accessible. You made it very easy & so much fun. Love your workshops, really loved cyanotype & appreciate that you sell small batches of materials so we can continue to play before we commit to buying in bulk.
-
I have been to several workshops of Kim Herringe now, and with each one I come away with so much knowledge. Kim has helped me enormously with my printing passion. Highly recommend any workshop that Kim has to offer.. You will end the day wanting more.
-
When I leave Kim’s workshops I can’t wait to practice everything new I have learned, and there is always some knew knowledge and technique to take home and experiment with. Kim is always willing to share and encourage.
-
Kim has an amazing talent and knowledge which she generously shares
-
The beginning of this online workshop (which is where I am at the moment), is so beautifully presented, clear instructions and fabulous videos showing all we need to see, with no obstructions. I am ready to start and very excited to learn this fabulous process.
-
I found the online workshop the perfect way to learn. Breaking the course up into modules meant that I could view that module, then try out the technique and finally go back over the module and pick up things that I had missed. And I just love the way Kim encourages students to go beyond what is taught to find what works for us as individuals.
-
Fantastic and inspirational as well as very professionally presented. Thank you so much for sharing so generously your love of this process.
-
This is such a wonderfully thought-out workshop and delivered so professionally. There is no room for confusion or misunderstanding. It is so reasonably paced and delivered in realistic 'bytes' that even a busy person can keep a creative schedule going to completion. And the results are so satisfying and unique, I could do this for ever. Working through it 'with you' prompted such a joy in creativity, discovery and inspiration. Thank you.
-
I would highly recommend Kim's workshop. Very informative, sequential presentations which were easy to follow and put into practice.
-
After 15 years, in mid 2019, I closed my studio in Beijing where I had a space of 150sqm with fabulous screen printing facilities. At the beginning of 2020 I returned to a 35sqm studio at my home in Melbourne and wondered where to go in my production. Covid struck with lock downs which gave me time to 'tidy' the space. A friend suggested Gel Plate Printing that is suitable to a limited environment and another friend recommended Kim. The online course has been a saving grace. It had me looking at my surroundings during my one hour, five kilometer walk where I collected lots of foliage and pursued the joy of a new form of print making.
-
Kim’s workshop is clear, informative and a great introduction to the world of gel press printing. I love the way I can jump back and forth between the steps. Kim is an excellent teacher and obviously passionate about her art form!
-
I would thoroughly recommend Kim's online courses. I am a full time artist and love undertaking professional development to keep abreast with current trends. Kim's courses would be the best online delivery I have come across. Great short videos demonstrating techniques. Comprehensive downloads for everything needed to complete the course. I enjoyed this experience almost as much as attending her fabulous studio workshops. Although, if you can make it to one of Kim's studio workshops you will be enriched for the experience. Thanks Kim. I am one very appreciative customer.
-
It was a lovely friendly learning environment. Kim is very giving of herself teaching and sharing with us as much as she can. I found the Cyanotype workshop inspiring and has filled me with heaps of ideas.
-
Kim’s enthusiasm, skill and care is evident all throughout the workshop. A gift.
-
The instructor (Kim), was thorough, knowledgeable, organised and friendly. The entire experience was great, I came away with an abundance of new skills and the opportunity for ongoing support. Kim is generous of her time and knowledge.
-
Kim, apart from the opportunity to remove myself from the ‘everyday’, I am grateful that you provide a place where, for the first time since year 8 art, I can simultaneously enjoy, create, learn and have fun in a completely non-judgmental and fabulously encouraging environment.
-
kim made me feel at ease and creates a welcoming and inclusive vibe. i found kim very available and engaged with participants. kim is generous and open with her knowledge and in sharing access to relevant and cost effective resources for continuing and furthering print practice. serious learning delivered in a light-hearted manner.
-
As always Kim was very well prepared, the days were well planned, and everyone was comfortable to ask questions. I loved being able to see and hear about Kim’s own process and issues. Kim is VERY generous and very knowledgeable
-
Kim shares so generously in her workshops and I enjoyed every minute, coming away feeling reinvigoated and with so many new skills and ideas. Thank you Kim for a fabulous learning experience.
-
"There was lots of very positive chatter about yesterday’s workshop and lots of envy from those who didn’t join us. Ingrid has already booked with you for later in the year. Kim you are a very generous and enormously talented tutor and your positive encouragement was much appreciated. Thank you from all of us." Jenny --- "Having never had an artistic flair I was worried I might have been out of my depth at the workshop. However, with Kim's enthusiasm and encouragement I was very pleased with my achievements. I found the process stimulating, rewarding and therapeutic and look forward to expanding my knowledge." Gloria --- "Just wanted to say a big thank you for sharing your talent with us today , I enjoyed the day and I am looking forward to continuing printing at home." Alison --- "Great experience. Highly recommended. Just learning something new and having different experiences is what life is all about. Treat yourself!" Julie
-
Thanks for sharing Kim. I love your generosity. I was a teacher for over 40 years before retiring 2 years ago. I have been disappointed on several occasions with classes I have attended either on-line or in person where the tutor is clearly there to earn some extra money and not prepared to share a lot of their knowledge. That is a 100% not you. The quality of the video was fantastic.
-
I'd recommend Kim's workshops to anyone interested in trying something new, or building on existing skills, in a supportive, friendly environment. Kim focuses on enjoying the process rather than aiming for perfection. She also provides excellent catering!
-
Kim is not only a wonderful printmaker, but she is an excellent teacher as well. She is generous with her knowledge and experience as well as her resources. I just loved my workshop with Gelli printing and am looking forward to the cyanotype coming up. I sincerely recommend Kim as a tutor and a lovely generous person.
-
"Many thanks Kim for such a lovely day. Your workshops are the best. Such a well informed and generous teacher. See you at the Winter school." Chris --- "Thank you for your inspiration and generosity of information yesterday, I really enjoyed the learining experience and meeting with you" Joy
-
Kim is an excellent teacher and she shared her passion for Gelatin Plate Printing in a relaxed and friendly workshop.
-
I really enjoyed Kim’s introduction to gelli printing workshop. It was a fun morning with a focus on play. I loved how generous Kim is with her knowledge and enjoyed experimenting with something I’d never tried before. Kim is great at taking the anxiety out of trying something new . Kin’s love of print making is contagious. Only problem was, I didn’t want to go home.
-
Kim is an amazing tutor and is very generous with her knowledge.
-
Lots to learn beyond the basic workshop ... Definitely helped me a lot and will keep me printing more at home. Had a magnificent day.
-
Choosing to play and print with leaves and botanicals from the garden is fun and imaginative. Choosing colours to blend and print that bring added surprise is even better. A highly recommended class with Kim as an expert teacher.
-
Loved the workshop and especially liked being able to think with my brain and play according to my heart! New techniques to add to my artistic repertoire are always wonderful to have and can lead you in new areas of discovery.
-
The Studio is a perfect place to unwind and feel excited all at once! I’m a little excited with my bush turkey! You’re such a good teacher Kim, I hope you never stop doing what you do.
-
The gelatin plate printing workshop was a great experience. Kim is such an organised, helpful, encouraging instructor, that the time just flew. It was such a joy to find something free & easy, no great thought processes, no experience necessary, no right or wrong. Being encouraged to just let it happen, and even go against your initial instincts was very refreshing. I was very happy with what I was able to produce at my very first attempt and I look forward to trying my hand at home.
-
The course was well presented easy to understand and exciting,Kim is so informative everything we wanted to know was answered and also in handouts for continued reference.I would highly recommend this workshop I got so much out of it and it was conducted in beautiful surrounds. I will definitely be back.
-
Very organised, plenty of supplies to use and Kim provided a lot of information and encouragement. I look forward to attending another of Kim’s workshops in the future.
-
Kim makes everything fun, there are no mistakes, just happy accidents. The company and the intimacy and encouragement from the group is also awesome. Such a great workshop. Would highly recommend to others.
-
Kim is very good at explaining throughout the day and I am so happy to come out the results I made it. The papers I'm more interested in. Cuz I love PAPERS. I would recommend you all go to her workshops. Thanks Kim you made my day. Look forward to more workshops with u Kim. Thanks.
-
I am very pleased with Kim’s online gel plate printing class. I had been working instinctively with the media and wanted to get a better understanding of working in layers. It was super well organized and had direct to the point instruction that was very helpful. I enjoyed her portal with visual and instructional goodies, and also the Facebook page, which gives a community feel. Thanks, Kim. I look forward to another workshop with you!
-
I can't ever speak highly enough of Kim and her unique talents. She's a passionate person who has not only been able to produce such astounding art work but is also prepared to pass on her passions to others in such a selfless and caring way. She goes down to tiny details and personal techniques which she passes on in such detail that one feels caught up in the spirit of the art work and nothing is impossible. Her workshops are like no others, every detail is covered, nothing is missed, and magical artwork is at your fingertips.
-
I did a one on one session Mono printing session with Kim and found her to be warm, friendly and very generous with her knowledge. I really liked the variety of ideas and techniques she explored during our time together and feel this will be positive for extending my own work in watercolour. I would highly recommend Kims workshops for anyone who is looking for a fun day to play and leave their woes at the door. It would also be great for someone in a creative rut who needs some fresh ideas and inspiration too.
-
There was so much helpful information presented in the workshop, it's hard to pick just one favorite part! From simple things like Kim's paint recommendations to her bigger ideas like the homemade registration tool, I walked away with a ton of useful ideas to use in my printmaking. Watching her work really fueled my creativity so I also appreciated the bonus content with ideas for what to do with ALL the prints I've been making since her class. Nice to see content all in one place and SUPER nice to be able to come back and look again without worrying about a time limit on access. Bonus content with templates and easy way to access the info/files.
-
What a wonderful "gift" to myself l really enjoyed learning more about Gelli Printing . Kim's energy flowed through the videos l really thought l was part of a class. l loved that l could watch the videos and then print when the children were asleep and then re - watch them over and over. A great experince Thank you Kim
-
I loved your gel plate monoprinting online course!! You were generous, gracious and and well-structured in your teaching, making the process easy to follow and explore. You were very thorough with the content, not only do I know how to do it, but I also have ideas what to do with my prints. I liked that the course was easy to access, really well organised. and that I can keep going back. I feel excited and inspired. Thanks Kim!
-
This is a very worthwhile class. It is self directed and I have returned to it to refresh myself with some of the information. Kim is an excellent instructor!
-
Thank you Kim for providing a very clear, easy to digest and inspiring online workshop on gel printing. I’m looking forward to incorporating some of your tips into my own practice.
-
Kim presents a fun and straightforward way for anyone to begin printmaking with a gel plate. Clear and easy to understand instructions. Simple tools. It really moved my process forward and now I'm able to produce much better prints. If you've been thinking about it, don't hesitate!
-
Thank you for a comprehensive and enlightening session Kim. I came with a bunch of questions about materials and process and left much wiser, but also with much homework. A very valuable few hours indeed tailored for exactly what I needed.
Reduction Linocut Private Tution -
You, your workshop, has offered me a totally new and fascinating world of looking at some things - for example of looking at wet and rotten leaves on the ground or dry grasses in the hay balls for the horses - and creating interesting prints with them. A thrilling activity, and I learn a lot with every print, even from those I ruin with the last layer ! Thank you too for the generous sharing of your art! I hope you create more workshops in future and wish you again a happy, healthy and joyfull Christmas time and New Year!
-
I am delighted to have met a genuine teacher, Kim has the skill to guide her students on their journey. Two days of one to one has me happily suffering brain burn, and as soon as I fully digest what I have been so fortunate to learn, I am going back for more.
Reduction Linocut Private Tution -
Kim was absolutely fantastic! I booked a private lesson as I wanted to fast track my knowledge about different aspects of printmaking. Kim was so generous with her knowledge and such a joy to learn from. I got so much out of my time with Kim, I left feeling confident and inspired to continue my journey as a printmaker!
Private Tuition -
It was almost as good as being there. Kim is a very good communicator and a generous and enthusiastic teacher. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these lessons. Thank you Kim, I loved it.
-
Kim generously shares her skills and knowledge in this course that was clear, comprehensive and very well structured
-
Information packed, friendly and relaxed atmosphere made this the most enjoyable way to spend a Saturday.
-
Absolutely loved it, the above changes are just suggestions - it must be difficult when you have different levels of skill!!
-
Linocut is much easier than I thought and Kim has infinite knowledge which she shares with everyone. Loved class and will book reduction Lino next
-
I care for my 80 yr old husband who has extensive health and mobility problems. Kim's gel printing course is great for someone with limited time. It's a great 'stress relief', a time to get lost in the fun of combining gel plate, paper, ink and flora - a time for 'me'. The way Kim has assembled this 'on line' workshop is great for a carer, as you can learn the technique in your space, in your time and at your pace. There is no judgement but a wealth of encouragement, the generosity of her knowledge of the process and the understanding of being a carer. I can end up with a muddy print but who cares, I am having fun. Many thanks.
-
Kim is a great teacher and awesome artist. She covers everything so thoroughly and at the same time encourages us to experiment and embrace the surprises. This gives confidence to have a go without being stuck on ideas of perfection. With cyanotypes, its often the surprises which are the most beautiful. Kim is warm and generous with so much information. Her home studio is welcoming with inspiration everywhere. At the end of the workshop you feel absolutely empowered to go home and keep producing work.
-
I had a thoroughly enjoyable day doing Cyanotype with Kim as a total beginner to this technique I didn't really know what to expect. The workshop was well run with well paced information throughout the day without becoming overwhelming and lots of practical time making our own cyanotypes. I came away with the knowledge and confidence to continue this printing process and plenty of stimulating ideas to take it even further.
-
6 out of 5 stars for the Botanical Impressions Eco-Printing Workshop Kim's passion and knowledge and love of art is contagious. I would do this course every weekend if I could afford it but luckily for me Kim has armed me with the instruction and knowledge to be able to do this at home. >From the minute you walk into her studio you are overwhelmed by a sense of calm. I LOVED THIS CLASS
-
Give yourself a chance to immerse in a different world to be creative. Learn new skills and a process that will open up new directions in your artistic life (even if you have never had an artistic life before this workshop).
-
"Thank you so much for the morning. I enjoyed it so much. I loved the feeling of being totally focussed and I am thrilled with my beginner art works." Maree --- "Best morning ever!" Helen
-
This class provided a delightful means to bring the outdoors into my gelli printing experience. I've always worked with stencils and stamps on my gelli plates. I absolutely love the layered effect of botanicals. I specifically love printing with ferns. The class was extremely well organized and easy to move through the modules. The videos were short and concise. Thank you Kim for a great class! I will be first in line to take another class from you.
-
Kim’s classes are fun and very educational. I learned a lot and was inspired by my fellow classmates ideas and work. The workshop has a lovely easygoing vibe that makes for a creative day.
-
My experience of training with Kim is always one of fun, curious exploration, and there are no mistakes. Her wealth of knowledge and generosity of spirit in sharing her discoveries delights creativity. Thank you for such inspiring workshops!
-
Kim is a wonderful teacher and kept us all inspired throughout the day. The Gelatine printing process; I had a marvellous day learning how the Gelatine process works. So much fun and incredibly spontaneous and somewhat unpredictable, which is lovely, because then you simply explore your way through the process and you can do nothing but have fun being creative.
-
Just wanted to let you know that I am enjoying your Gel Plate Printing Workshop enormously. I'm very impressed with the portal - it looks really stylish and inviting. I have gone through all the modules on the workshop and have learned a lot as I was quite new to gel plate printing, having only done a half-day course here in England before your workshop. I will be looking over individual modules again, so I'm really happy that I have access for as long as the workshop is running/a year. Although it must be hard to replicate your live, in person workshops, you really gave me the sense that you were inviting me into your workshop and your enthusiasm for printing came over so well. It's an excellent way to share your skills with like-minded people all over the globe (despite the current pandemic).
-
I was unsure about what to expect as other workshops I'd attended were either rushed or short on information, Kim's workshops are the complete opposite. Classes are run at a good pace, that is your own pace. Kim creates a relaxed atmosphere to encourage experimentation and exploration, perfect for nervous beginners like me. She also gives you oodles of useful information and ideas that you can apply immediately. Kim is also a very generous teacher, sharing all she knows and because of that, helps you get great results from the start. I would highly recommend Kim to anyone wanting to learn Gelli plate printing. I'm sure all her courses are the same.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. I walked away from the day wanting more and wanting to continue to experiment. The resources provided were excellent, and Kim is an excellent teacher. The results were different for everyone, I think that is why it was so exciting. Fabulous process, I would highly recommend this workshop.
-
I actually learned so much through Kim's generosity, attention to detail and very clear explanation of this technique. I encourage anyone who would truly like to learn about Gelli printing to take Kim's workshop. Kim's teaching and printing help to showcase Gelli printing as fine art.
-
Thank you Kim for a fabulous online gel plate workshop. I enjoyed everything about it, the presentation, clear demonstrations, generous information and the encouragement to experiment, take the process further and play with colour. I especially appreciated your tips on presentation and all the helpful hints and tips along the way.
-
The online Gel plate monoprinting workshop is excellent! The process is clearly explained step by step with the aid of videos and lots of additional resources to help and inspire. Kim has thought of everything a student might need in learning the printing process and generously shares her knowledge and skills with real natural warmth. It’s great that it is totally self-paced, enabling you to dip in and out of the course, and revisit steps again if you need to. The site is very well structured and easy to navigate - so many resources available too. I really enjoyed the workshop and now am having a great time making gel prints. Highly recommend this course.

I organised a group of friends and we had a great day we all took home some very beautiful silk scarves and paper. Kim was excellent with information and made us feel very welcome.
-
The workshop was great. The studio was first class (dream studio). I thought the number of participants was just right for a hands on workshop. Everything was set up and ready and the day flowed smoothly. Great instruction and sharing, no pressure and to top off a lovely location.
-
This workshop was so informative, well-paced and so much fun! As always Kim is so encouraging and full of printmaking knowledge! You only have to look up enquiringly before she’s by your side, ready to help and give you advice. The workspace is packed with inspiration and it’s great to be able to use tools and materials you might not have access to yourself. Kim breaks down the seemingly daunting technique of reduction linocut, into a tried and tested process which gives you the confidence to try it on your own and further push yourself out of your comfort zone. I highly recommend if you’ve ever wanted to try reduction printmaking!
-
From the moment you arrive Kim makes the experience so special. Yes you learn about Lino cuts but much much more. Kim is an excellent teacher and a gentle soul...her energy makes this experience so rewarding. Thank you.
-
Kim is very organised and has a wealth of knowledge which she readily shares. Kim is an amazing tutor who imparts a positive attitude to her students.
-
Kim is a very generous artist and shares so much in her workshops. I’ve now completed five different workshops with Kim and highly recommend her talented and giving style of teaching.
-
What was not to like - the tips, instructions, setting, group, practical assistance, a laugh or two all exceptionally supplied by Kim.
-
This course was fantastic! It taught me everything I need to know to be able to generate a beautiful mono prints whilst being really easy to follow and very user friendly. Kim is incredibly generous with her knowledge which makes it really feel like you’re developing your skills quickly and that by the end of it you have an excellent understanding of the process.

A sense of excitement begins right at the beginning of the first announcements, followed by the pre-workshop information about what to bring and what to expect. Following this build-up, one is ready to step into the studio and be carried away in this new experience. Everything has been thought through so carefully and is reflected in the materials and notes waiting at each participant's work space. The studio is light and airy, with tea and coffee available all day. We start on time and work our way through the day - I like the initial information - what we're going to do/achieve, and how we're gong to do it. There are always plenty of notes/lists of resources, materials/and more - everything one needs to know to keep going once we leave for home. I like the pace, your delivery style and your roving - ready to comment or assist everyone who needs it, and all in a positive relaxed manner. Everything rolled smoothly along - your organisation is superb, seamless, from the studio instruction, out to the garden, back again, and into the dark room. It was so good to see the intensity of each person working through these new experiences, and sharing this joy with each other. Finally, I thought the experience of looking at other artists' work was a really nice wind up -something to strive for, and by this time we really had an appreciation of how these artists were achieving their results. By the end of the day I felt I had some skills to develop at home. And you left us in the security that you are always happy to help if we have further questions.
-
For beginners and printers alike this was an excellent clear introduction with lots of examples and encouragement and tips. Kim responded well to questions and requests and shared her enthusiasm and love of the process. Thank you.
-
Though I had done some printmaking prior to this workshop. It consolidated my skills and extended me to try new things. Great Being part of the gelli printing community through The Studio FB page. Kim is an amazing teacher with her knowledge and inspiring projects.
-
Loved the self-paced learning and Kim's teaching style. Particularly enjoyed the Facebook Studio interaction with other students from everywhere. So much variety as we were able to apply our own practice to what we learnt from Kim.
-
I highly recommend Kim's online Gel Plate Monoprinting workshop. Clear explanations, illuminating videos and well-structured delivery meant it I could build my knowledge of gel plate monoprinting with ease. Kim's passion and love for all things print shine through into all aspects of this workshop and you feel as though you're there in her studio with her. This provides a strong sense of place within which to contextualise her work and her approach. I also loved the insights into her book collection and resources! Fantastic all round. Thank you, Kim!
-
I just now have had time to start your class and I am blown away. I love it. You are an excellent teacher and I only wish I could be there in person. Please continue to do these classes online. And thank you again.
-
I wanted to let you know that I’ve completed your online course and it is absolutely “AWESOME” in so many ways and on so many levels. I LOVED IT!! It is a true reflection of who you are as an artist, teacher and person. To me it is very obvious the hours, depth of skills, knowledge and detail that have gone into producing such a brilliant product. I believe that the work members have been posting already is a true reflection of the effectiveness of what you have created.
-
Kim is a wonderful instructor who demystifies the Gelatin printmaking process. Her straightforward instruction brought me into a new world of experimentation and discovery. The Studio FB group provides a fun and friendly collaboration environment which extends the online learning experience. Highly recommend and can’t wait for her future courses.
-
I highly recommend this workshop. Kim's teaching experience shines through the workshop as she breaks the process down into manageable bites. I loved working through the workshop, I couldn't wait to get to the next bit 🙂
-
I liked how easy it was to complete the tasks and to come home with something that I had made myself and the fact that I will be able to play at home use a non toxic method.
-
The thrill of learning a new process and of course the way it was taught. Very easy to follow and so accessible to guide and answer questions. The workshop was amazing. Kim is a wonderful teacher and covered so much in just one day. I highly recommend this great experience.
-
When I went to your workshop early this yr and trying to remember what you were saying. Totally forgotten. Then you went to do online for me. I watched ahhhhh I forgot some of thing and did it on prints straight away. I was so happy. ( Especially close caption.).. I understood u more than Utube channel.. Really that you helped me lots, loud and clear every subjects. Thanks Kim for doing a great job.
-
I know how much time it takes to deliver online content well and I think you have nailed it! The mix of notes, printable resources and videos is perfect! I also really appreciated the ability to go back and look at your videos of your own work. I have found that I have learnt so much from being able to go and do this after playing a bit and looking at my work more analytically. But most of all, I think the permission to play has been a wonderful gift! Thoroughly recommend this workshop - I could spread it out over a week and it has been a wonderful way to start my day! Be warned though - gel printing is addictive and it had me dreaming of printing! Thanks very much Kim 🙂
-
The workshop was excellent value for money with really clear, well paced videos that demystified the process. The closed FB group has been a lovely bonus to be able to share our creations and gain inspiration from each other.
-
I have found Kim Herringe to be extremely friendly, helpful and professional in her approach to the Gel Print online workshop. The workshop is easy to use and can be watched in short chunks or in its entirety. You can also go back and view again as required. There is also links to printable information which you can refer to when the online viewing is finished. I highly recommend this workshop if you are interested in gel prints or starting printing for the first time. I look forward to more of Kim’s workshops
-
Kim is a natural teacher, happy to share her knowledge and also to readily talk about lessons she has learned through making hands on 'mistakes'. Her passion for printmaking and her enthusiasm for sharing both her knowledge and her own continual learning journey was evident across the weekend.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed attending Kim’s Cyanotype workshop. The weather tried to conspire against us, however there was still enough sun to achieve good results. Also learned that the weather doesn’t need to be sunny to achieve a result. I will putting these skills to use in the near future.
-
Kim's online monotyping workshop is nature & craft in your pyjamas from the comfort of your own home (the only thing missing is Miss Maggie). She encourages you to create amazing artwork and embrace your inner creative even in digital format. So excited for metal plate etching and hopefully ecoprinting soon.
-
I participated in Kim’s Cyanotype workshop, and was new to the process. Despite bad weather, Kim was adaptable, and extremely well prepared. There was a great mix of theory, show and tell, and hands on experimentation. Highly recommended!
-
Kim is not only incredibly talented, but she is so lovely and patient in her face to face workshops. This translated perfectly to the calm and careful explanations and documents she provides for her online workshops. It was so easy to work through the course at my own pace AND get incredible results. #thereisnosuchthingasamistake

-
There was a great atmosphere to this workshop and it felt very relaxed. I had great fun and feel able to continuing lino printing on my own. The workshop was well paced and well planned. There was enough time to complete the objectives of the workshop. The resources available were a great source of inspiration. Having a list of resources etc is a great point of reference to get started with good basic equipment and resources. You were very generous with information and guidance, a great teacher!
-
I’ve just completed Gel Plate Mono-printing on-line course with Kim Herringe.I’m excited!I’m very impressed with the quality of production and the value for money. The course is very easy to navigate and there so much information presented in a way that is easy to understand. Nothing has been missed.Kim’s delivery was smooth and natural - it was like she was in the room, talking to me.I would highly recommend this to anyone with an interest in Gel Printing, beginner or not ... and I can’t wait for the next episode 🙂
-
The workshop exceeded my expectations. The prints the students achieved were majestic. A large number of variations in technique were each demonstrated clearly and succinctly. Kim gave genuine encouragement and if a student developed a different result it was acknowledged enthusiastically.
-
Kim's passion and knowledge of reduction lino print and other printing processes made the weekend workshop so interesting and informative. Her skillset is outstanding and is to be admired and celebrated. In that sense, it was a privilege to be taught by her and have her share her skills and life with us, I have nothing but admiration for her strength, skill and tenacity. Working with other likeminded artisans is also special and so enjoyable to see how others approach their work and desired outcomes. Thank you Kim for a wonderful weekend.
-
Kim did a fabulous job sharing her expertise and helping the group get their heads around the amazing world of reduction printing. Everyone left with many more skills, and a completed piece of work of which they could be proud. I am sure we also left inspired to continue printing and determined to return and learn more from Kim.
-
I like the instruction is informative and clear but delivered in an informal way. I also like the generous sharing of ideas, tools and resources. And that you enable participants to go home and continue working on linocut printing with minimal equipment. I also like to see the work of other students take shape. The studio set-up is great - plenty of space for all. I thought the time management was good - I never felt either rushed or bored. And of course - location, location, location!
-
Small class. So much help and attention from [Kim] and so generous with resources and advice. I am reeling with so much to process and remember. Lovely studio and outlook. Very special greeter Maggie. I think I enjoyed and learnt more in this workshop than the first Lino one I did some years ago.
-
Our Visual Art teaching staff have highly enjoyed the fantastic Cyanotype workshop with Kim. We had a wonderful day learning and experimenting with this technique. I would strongly recommend her workshops for art teachers, artists and also beginners. Kim is very warm host who is only too happy to provide knowledge of skills, resources and materials. She was able to encourage us to be in their innermost creative and mindful zones.
-
Kim is very generous with information and her time. Kim’s studio is very warm and welcoming and I loved my time there creating prints from the limo I carved on the day. Thank you Kim for a fabulous day look forward to next time.
-
Kim is a passionate teacher and is a very sharing person with her skills
-
For me this was a return to my past. Life just happened and got busier and busier , so 33 years later I returned to where I left off in Year 12 art. It was amazing, I could have spent a whole weekend doing this . I am still thinking about the class and where I could take what I learned. Lovely location and great company too.
-
Throughly enjoyed the Botanical Impressions Eco-printing workshop. Kim is so generous with resources, ideas, and examples of what can be produced with the techniques. Am going to enjoying working through the information and experimenting more. I will definitely be attending more of Kim’s workshops.
-
Very genuine workshop experience. We literally stepped into your studio for the day. Any criticism I have is not for you but the art form and that’s entirely personal. I love the clean lines, I love paper and ink and line work. It’s all beautiful but it doesn’t do it for me like oil painting. Stepchild haha.
-
From her well-equipped studio in the quiet Maleny countryside, Kim provides you with a very informative, relaxed and fun two-day workshop. Having the workshop held in a full time working printmakers studio, with a wealth of resources to hand, plenty of works in progress, and access to past works - really enriches the learning experience. Originals of other printmakers work hang on the walls, and a well -resourced library of reference books is to hand. A creative, stimulating environment indeed.
-
Kim has a natural way with people, she makes everyone feel very welcome as soon as they enter the studio. She has a great teaching style and follows up each session with printed information to take home. Kim is very knowledgeable about her craft and has many resources to share. I spent a very happy and rewarding 2 days learning about Lino reduction printing.
-
Kim is a thorough, well prepared and organised teacher of Reductive Linoprinting. I was very pleased with the experience, because I learned what I wanted to know, and am energised to continue in this printmaking technique.
-
Kim is a wonderful teacher and guided us in making some beautiful prints. I was a beginner at this and not very confident with colours but enjoyed learning a new skill and creating one off original prints. Note from Kim: Lee, you created some simply beautiful prints, and you play with colours was lovely. Keep going !! 🙂
-
Excellent tuition delivered in a friendly positive way. Clear instructions with the right balance of demonstrations and self motivated activity. All equipment to hand and I appreciated the extra space. I have been to workshops in the past where the space is too cramped and everything gets muddled up! You are super organised Kim even down to the tea and biscuits and it makes for such an enjoyable day. You were very generous with your knowledge and tips and I now feel that I can have a go with confidence on my mini gel plate which has been sitting on the shelf untouched for months. Thank you. Cheers Bee
-
Kim was so welcoming and open to sharing her wealth of knowledge in Gelli Plate printing. There was the perfect mix of information, demos and time to play and experiment with the medium.
-

-
The workshop space was interesting, comfortable, airy and had plenty of creative reference materials to use. Kim was passionate, kind, friendly, inclusive, knowledgeable, had a clear idea of what the workshop could offer and made sure that was achieved. The materials and resources were freely available and there were plenty available. Loved what we learnt.
-
Kim is very talented and an excellent teacher, very open and sharing with ideas and techniques. A great atmosphere and comraderie also made it a fantastic experience. I'd recommend it to anyone, individual and groups.
-
Kim demonstrated a number of techniques to help us understand the concepts, - one of which was a bit of a head scratch to try and figure out. However it became quite clear once the process was shown step by step. There was a lot of examples of work to show us the end results as well. I look forward to my next class ! Kim is a very approachable and knowledgeable teacher, who is more than willing to share her knowledge. Her art studio is a lovely atmosphere work in.
-
Kim provides great insight into the print medium process. A beautiful art space to work your own piece of magic on paper, silk or cloth. Thanks Kim can’t wait for my next workshop.

After one of Kim Herringe's workshops, you feel recharged and excited to engage in new processes of paint, play and printing. Her easy going style of conversation helps participants to let go.
-
Kim's EcoPrinting on Silk and Paper workshop was very informative, I learn a lot from this GREAT ART TEACHER! Excellent skills and ideas were presented in a very pertinent and clear manner, informative tips were given with great explanations. This was the BEST Art Workshop I've EVER Experienced (and I'm a workshop frequenter). Thank you so much Kim for the fabulous workshop!!!

Great atmosphere and easy to become creative in this environment with lots of examples and encouragement. Even if you have never done any art - you can create a masterpiece! The best way to get away from it all and the day unfortunately flew past and it was time to go home! Kim you are a wonderful and caring instructor.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop yesterday, and could have spent a lot more time playing! Thank you so much for all the information and guidance.
-
I have explained to her that I have to bring someone with me to hear the workshop and she understood that I needed an Auslan Interpreter. It was her first time to meet me, I am deaf and it was the first time Auslan Interpreter in her workshop. She loves it too, as I could tell. I was so happy and understanding everything for Gelatin Monoprint workshop. I definitely be back and as well other different workshop with my Interpreter.
-
I found your workshop just fabulous! The resources were great, and the space was so relaxing and creative. And I have to say I found your style of tutoring was the best. We were provided with lots of practical advice, and lots of inspiration. You moved the class along providing effective demonstration, and I felt comfortable to try my own ideas. I loved it and will definitely recommend it to others.
-
A really wonderful and creative learning experience. I am hooked on printing now! Thank you Kim 🙂
-
Kim is an amazing artist and a wonderful teacher. She is so generous with sharing her contacts and knowledge. I have now enjoyed 3 different printmaking workshops with Kim and cannot wait to do more. She’s so inspiring and encouraging.
-
A stimulating and rewarding day. Highly recommend.
-
"A very personable approach. So generous with information and materials too. Many thanks Kim for a great workshop. A lovely relaxed and productive day!" Judy --- "I liked that you just showed the technique and we could just do our own thing and that there was no right or wrong print. Excellent workshop." Marilyn
-
We shared lunch afterwards and I thought you'd like to know that you received the loveliest compliments. Words like "professional, generous, amazing, inspirational and knows what she's doing" abounded. Everyone enjoyed the workshop and 3 hours was just right. We were also very impressed at how organised you are. Your gentle guidance and encouragement gave me so much confidence, and I especially loved the way you would tell us to detach from the outcome. I was so inspired that I did just that this morning on a frame of silk that will become scarves. That advice really freed me up to play without boundaries and this piece is unusual for me. ... abandoned playfulness.
-
My one on one tuition with Kim was so worthwhile. She was very generous with all the information provided I also had heaps of questions so we covered a lot during the time and I went away excited and motivated. Thanks so much Kim!
Private Tuition -
I totally enjoyed Kim's Botanical Impressions Eco-Printing workshop, and getting into the practicalities of what is a mysterious and serendipitous art. Kim managed to cover this in her straight forward and easy going manner. I am quite proud of my 'beginner' eco-printed scarves and the gorgeous botanical shapes and colours on paper.
-
I thoroughly enjoyed attending this workshop. Relaxed but very informative and I ended up with scarves and paper that I'm quite proud of! I think Kim is very clever and her passion for the subject shines through - she really loves what she does. I will definitely be attending more of her classes.
-
I have been to a few of Kim's workshops so far and I think this particular workshop has been the most satisfying. Just love the scarves and paper we produced. Love the environment, Kim's easy reassuring manner, all the resources available and the other participants. Oh and Maggie - of course!
-
I loved the workshop in its entirety. It was a wonderful, fun, interactive day with just the right number of students in Kim’s studio. Everything that we needed for our artistic processes was provided. She was available to each and every one of us for advice and assistance. Her enthusiasm with her art is contagious. Kim is a great communicator passing on her craft with explanation and demonstration. She is a natural teacher and generous with her knowledge. Our day flowed beautifully because of Kim’s planning for a highly successful workshop.. I look forward to my next one!
-
I attended a Xmas card linoprinting workshop and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. From the welcome coffee, to Kim's patient and enthusiastic teaching, the quality of supplies and tools we were using, the amazing inspiration from her to-die-for studio and the small group size, to being able to leave with finished hand-made cards and an urge to try more lino-cutting! Thanks Kim, my first class but I think it won't be my last!
-
I really enjoyed this session and learned heaps, thank you Kim. I loved carving out the lino and seeing the end result transform into something beautiful! I especially liked being able to choose from a range of already tried and tested designs and learning how to replicate it rather than creating a design of your own - this saved loads of time. As well as being happy to help each of us, Kim was very bright, friendly and fun. The venue was excellent and the number of attendees perfect - plenty of room and plenty of fun!!
-
I travelled from the Gold Coast to do this workshop as I was told Kim Herringe was the best lino print teacher, and indeed she is. Wonderful class, loads of fun, great learning at comfortable pace. Very hospitable and fabulous studio. Thoroughly recommend this class and this wonderful clever teacher. Lesley.
-

-
Kim is such a fantastic teacher. Very informative. Explains the subject so it is easy to understand. Very generous with all aspects of the workshop. Lots of fun. I came away, and I can say for all our group, with such energy and enthusiasm. Cannot wait to continue with all the knowledge from this second workshop that I have attended with Kim.
-
"I am not a beginner and yet I learnt so much. About using tools, mark making, sharpening tools, and doing a rubbing! Had never thought of that as a way to review progress. You are a great teacher, generous with your time and knowledge, patient, and passionate. Not precious about your knowledge and expertise like some teachers. It was great Kim. Thankyou." Julie --- "I hadn’t done Lino print for a long while, and after the workshop, I’m so hooked. And we also got lots of information for places to buy and places to visit for inspiration." Ellen --- "Love that Kim shared her knowledge of the Exhibition at the Gallery, and sharing her passion for her chosen Practice in the Art World. THE best workshop I have attended at the Gallery. Many, many thanks" Joan --- "I feel privileged to have been able to participate in the workshop." Margaret --- "Can’t wait for the next one!" Barbi --- "I had a great experience and look forward to developing my new skill." Sandy

Loved the informal friendly presentation of the process of the Gel Printing... the relaxed atmosphere and the openness with which Kim shared her knowledge, and the way we were encouraged to continue to experiment and explore this printing process... thank you Kim for a delightful, fun filled day!
-
This is a special place where everyone becomes an amazing artist while having a lot of fun. A fantastic break from a busy and tech saturated world.
-
I will be back for more. I love how caring and giving you are as a tutor and provide such a non-competitive, non-judgemental play space.
-
Recently attended a Cyanotype workshop and had an absolutely wonderful day. Kim gave easy to understand instructions, numerous examples of what to expect that attendees could feel, look at and discuss. There were ample things to try out and lots of space to move about easily. Kim was on hand with suggestions and answers and a plethora of information in follow up emails. Her studio is light and airy, easy to access and has beautiful views to enjoy whilst stopping for lunch.
-
Thank you Kim for a perfect workshop. Your enthusiasm for your art is contagious and I felt I came away from the day so inspired. The thing I loved was that there was no pressure to create a certain way, there was no wrong way to do anything. I came home with some beautiful pieces and not one am I going to discard. Love them all, that says a lot for how you conducted the day. The information flowed all day. Thank you Kim for sharing so much.
-
You are such a great teacher, a genuine person and I absolutely loved the weekend and only wished I lived closer so I could come to everything you run! Thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge and experience with us, its invaluable and so generous. Do yourself a favour and sign up for one of Kim's workshops, you will not regret it!

Kim is a wonderful instructor, very welcoming, passionate and full of knowledge that she is only too happy to share. I thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and would recommend it to anyone wanting to take their Linocuts to the next level.
-
I signed up for a two day Lino Print workshop with Kim. I was nervous about attending as my background is not of an artistic nature and I was not sure my skill level would meet the criteria needed. Why did I worry? With Kim's gentle approach to the workshop; her step by step instructions and expectations, she put my mind at ease immediately. Her gentle approach to the workshop instills confidence in your ability and by the end of the tuition, you have created a piece that you are proud of. Very liberating!
-

For many years I’ve been searching for an art medium that I can get excited about and now, at this late stage of my life, I’ve found it. Something unknown and unexpected, a passion - perfect for my ageing and rheumatic hands, simple processes I can indulge in on a daily basis, and yearn for when other duties call. I became inspired less than a year ago after visiting a printing exhibition of aboriginal lino cuts. But what to do? A search on Google took me to Kim’s inspirational website and the decision was made. I wanted to get started there and then and so I decided to take a one-on-one session - four hours of entry into this new world. It was just what I needed. Entry level, slow paced, hands on, with fabulous colours and beautiful papers, and take-home gorgeous works of art. I not only learnt the basics of lino printing, but Kim very wisely offered an alternative for when my hands aren’t functioning so well - gelli printing, and it is this that now sustains me. I recently took another individual workshop with Kim, this time to discuss my progress and go deeper into the unlimited possibilities - Kim is such a good teacher - listening, reflecting, guiding and encouraging. I can’t recommend her highly enough - I’m hooked for life, and will return to her studio as often as I can.

I had fond memories of lino printing in high school...when I saw Kim's lino printing workshop and had to go give it a try as an 'adult'. What a fantastic day! From the stunning setting to the inspiration everywhere (including the beautiful Maggie) it was a day for the soul. I usually stick to drawing, but can get quite anxious about the finished product...i loved this class as it took the pressure out and focused on fun...i turned one of my drawings into a print and hey presto...i had 12 versions of my drawing that looked cool and graphic and I can now try out all my ideas on without 'ruining' the drawing. highly recommend this class! My husband thoroughly enjoyed making his samurai print too.
-
I did Kim’s Linoprinting 101 class and REALLY enjoyed it. It was super well organised and Kim is a great teacher and communicator. The class was well paced and Kim’s instructions very easy to follow. Kim is a talented printmaker who is very happy to share her knowledge and passion. She knows we’re all creative and understands our need to create. I look forward to attending more workshops in the future.
-
A very informative Gel print workshop on 1st June, 2019. Lots of good demonstrations, handouts and materials. Also the studio was spacious and had lots of natural light. Overall a great learning experience.
-
Fantastic day learning about gelli plate printing. Informative, fun the day flew by and I ended with some wonderful prints and some great ideas. Thanks Kim.
-
Kim, I have no idea if you have ever been a teacher. Many artists and artisans are skilled in their areas but lack teaching ability. You nailed it. All learning should involve fun within a positive environment and you provided this in spades. I felt happy just plodding, experimenting and sharing conversations with the group about our individual experiments.....with no judgement attached. It was wonderful to have all of the equipment provided and to have all of your expertise in showing, sharing and modelling. Having a small group also meant we all had access to your expertise and advice. So in short...I loved it.
-
A great teacher, is one that shares. Kim was a fantastic teacher and guide through the lino reduction process. She has a passion for her art, which is contagious, in those of us with lesser skills. Enjoyed it immensely, I will be back.
-
Kim was incredibly thorough with her teachings and she is a wealth of knowledge all things Print Making. She did not hold back any information when asked. Her passion for art is truly refreshing and contagious.

-
I recently did a Gel Plate Printing workshop with Kim & had a great time! I'd previously watched numerous videos & tried a few things myself, but had not really been happy with the results. In a very short time I was producing multi-layered prints that I really loved. The techniques were clearly explained and demonstrated & the materials were very high quality. Kim's encouragement to just play, experiment & let go of the outcome really made for an enjoyable learning experience. I would recommend the workshop to anyone who is interested in gel plate printing.
-
Thank you, Kim Herringe! What an absolutely fantastic day the PYO Christmas card workshop was. To be honest, I was quite concerned about my ability to be able to complete anything worthy of a Christmas card. With my background of no lino print experience, you introduced me to the process and instilled a competence and confidence in me to create Christmas Cards that I am proud to gift to family and friends. Kim, I can’t say enough words about your generosity sharing not only your knowledge, tips and tricks but they way you provide ample amounts of supplies to ensure that everyone not only achieves their goals in your workshop, but also can continue to develop their printing at home. I was able to teach my 12 year old daughter for her to print her own cards the very next day, which was the best feeling!

The Mixed Media Art group at the Buderim Cottage, of which I am leader, invited Kim to conduct two gel plate workshops in October. I found Kim to be professional, her workshop was very well planned and organised. In addition to being an excellent printmaker, she was able to impart her skills and enthusiasm with ease. Her workshops were successful and were universally enjoyed by everyone who attended.

I recently attended Kim’s PYO Christmas Cards lino print workshop and it was an excellent day. Kim’s passion for this art form is evident from the time you meet her, and her help, guidance and organisation made the workshop fun, interesting and easy to achieve a satisfying result, even as real beginner. It was lovely to meet a group of ladies with similar interests and to hear how their knowledge and techniques have expanded through similar workshops. I would highly recommend one of Kim’s workshops to anyone at all interested in print, and I look forward to attending another next year.

Kim has a natural gift for teaching & such vibrant joy in sharing her knowledge & skills - it just spreads out to everyone! Very thankful Kim was so generous with her time - (with all of us) as I learn only through the 'doing'. The size of our group was perfect & the location was just divine. I had a wonderful weekend & keen for more printing practice now!! THANK YOU KIM for an inspirational weekend!

Very well organised in a beautiful workshop setting. I liked the small group, allowing us all time with Kim. A happy atmosphere; Kim is extremely giving of her time a knowledge and an excellent communicator.
-
I loved the workshop. Kim shared a lot of information, as well as images which is always nice to see and aspire to. Going through the process with prints of each part of the process was helpful. I had a million questions, and Kim were kind enough to answer them. This enables me see the process in my mind more clearly and to try a couple of things I was wondering about.

Hi Kim, I firstly want to thank you for a really enjoyable workshop and I must say you're not only lovely to talk to but you're also a good teacher. Sometimes people can have a skill and run a workshop but they aren't good teachers. You are not one of those! I really enjoyed it.

I spent Saturday completing a lino printing workshop with Miss Kim. I must say it was the best workshop I have been to in years and would recommend anyone to attend. It doesn't matter your age, style or skill, Miss Kim makes you feel like a pro. Had so much fun. Thanks Miss Kim

I attended the Lino Print workshop yesterday. Kim is an amazing teacher. The class is well structured and Kim provided lots of advice and assistance. The whole day was a fantastic experience. I am now eager to start my next project.

Hi Kim, I loved yesterday. I even came home and started on the feather image. I am keen to do more workshops, not only was the space totally perfect but the format was so relaxing and informative. It felt like a retreat for the mind and soul. Your lovely, attentive and easy going style gave me the confidence to pursue with ease unfamiliar territory. Look forward to next time😊

I had the pleasure of attending a private workshop with Kim to extend my gelatin plate printing skills, discuss registration and to play with cyanotyping. Kim provided extensive and well researched information in an organised and thoroughly enjoyable morning. I look forward to my next workshop.

I love being with like minded people, so we were off to a good start. Kim is very well organised and extremely willing to share her knowledge as well as the tips and tricks she has learned, admitting freely that some of these were by making her own mistakes 🙂 She is welcoming and very passionate about her work - instead of just letting us know what to do, she challenged us and got us thinking about how we could resolve our own dilemmas, but also stepped in with suggestions if we got stuck. My fellow student and I were fortunate enough to do the workshop in Kim's own studio, and it is a very creative space. Again, she was very willing to share her equipment and absolutely everything you could possibly need was provided. Having said that, she had loads or equipment and supplies in boxes and if, due to class size you did the workshop in another venue, you would want for nothing. I'd recommend booking a workshop with Kim. Even if you have done some reductive work previously, you will definitely come away with additional knowledge and some skills about how to tackle a reductive project.

Kim's nurturing personality was very helpful in breaking down barriers to learning. Very well organised and presentation of class material superb. The supply of coffee, tea and yummy cookies showed a genuine generosity of spirit. All equipment was supplied, explained and demonstrated. Superb attention to detail.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable two days with Kim who managed to de-mystify my fear of reductive lino cutting. The two day workshop was so well organised and resourced and Kim is so generous with sharing her knowledge and linocut secrets. The venue proved very inspirational but the view was a definite distraction! Came away with re-ignited passion and motivation. Thank you so much Kim x

Kim is a warm and generous teacher who combines extraordinary talent with a remarkably in-depth subject knowledge to provide a workshop which is both compelling and engaging. I arrived at the workshop with no background in printmaking and left with sufficient skills to use the technique in my own practice I would highly recommend the Linoprinting 101 workshop to anyone who has an artistic inclination, regardless of their current discipline.

I attended Kim’s Reductive Linoprint Workshop on the weekend. I would highly recommend doing a workshop with Kim such an enthusiastic and talented lady. We had a lovely weekend in a perfect setting at Richard Muldoon’s studio in Maleny. Kim is a great teacher and generously shared all her expertise. Really looking forward to doing another workshop with Kim.

I found the workshop very well organised, very relaxing atmosphere with no pressure and every step well explained. Great selection of prints to use as a template as well. I learned a lot and realise how important it is to be careful, more precise and take your time. I framed my print and it actually looks great, so in the end I guess I was pleased with what I achieved and feel inspired to do another one with a different subject on the lino. Thanks Kim thoroughly enjoyed.

You run a fantastic workshop Kim, you made everyone feel relaxed and you were so generous with your knowledge, resources and tips to ensure every one achieved a good result. Your passion for printmaking really shines through and is so very infectious. You ensured each participant was given the guidance they needed and took particular interest in ensuring everyone understood the process. You were most helpful in explaining ways to overcome any hurdles and genuinely wanted people to be happy with what they were producing. I came away itching to finish my print and to improve my reductive linocut printmaking skills. I have no hesitation in recommending this workshop to others and l look forward to doing more workshops with you.

I can highly recommend doing Kim's classes. She knows that everyone learns differently and she is very patient. At the end of a lesson you know you can go ahead and do this yourself.
-
You made it easy and we ended up with a great print we did ourselves. It would be great fun whether you are into art, crafts, printing or not at all - I recommended it to the friend who minded my dog yesterday. You are engaging and passionate about printing and shares whatever you can. I had been interested in trying printing and you literally made me think not only could I do it, but that it would be exciting, challenging and rewarding. You may never get rid of me.
-
Again I had the opportunity to attend one of Kim's lino printing workshops. She is unbelievable in the knowledge she has and is willing to pass on to you. Kim goes way beyond what would be expected of a tutor. I fully recommend her to anyone thinking of taking up a new art. Kim makes it so easy to learn. Thank you.
-
Great inspiration to keep me motivated in my art practice. Thank you for providing and sharing your techniques.
-
Though I’ve never tried printmaking before, I really enjoyed your workshop Kim. It was very relaxed and friendly, with heaps of paints, paper and materials to experiment and play with. The small group we had was lovely - we could get inspiration from others and the right amount of assistance as we needed it. There was a good amount of activities and best of all, plenty of time to practise what we’d learned – I had a fun day and loved it!

I did Kim's Linoprinting 101 workshop and really enjoyed it. Leading up to the workshop, all of Kim's communications about what to expect on the day and what to bring were clear and timely. The studio for the day was well organised and everyone had their own setup which allowed us to work at our own pace. The small group size (8 in total) was ideal for beginners and allowed Kim to focus on personalised help as we worked through our projects. Morning and afternoon tea was an added bonus! Kim is a very talented artist and her passion for her subject matter really shone through, both in her clear explanations of the printing process and in some of the inspiration she shared with us. I'm looking forward to my next class with her.
-
It was a friendly relaxing environment and Kim demonstrated the techniques in a clear manner. I took a while to remember processes but that was part of the fun in experimenting and not trying to make perfect art. Just play!
-
I really did enjoy this class! I definitely recommend giving it a go. Kim is super friendly and willing to help and nothing is so be of an issue. She is so organised from start to end which makes it a nice stress free experience. Where Kim held the workshop was a nice intimate space and everyone had a nice laugh and a great time. Definitely recommend do the course!

If you are thinking of a lino craving/printing class this is the lady to have as a tutor. I found Kim to be so organised with emails detailing everything to a T before the class. Her attention to detail in the class was was unbelievable. So much information my head was spinning. She presented us with a beautiful morning tea. The next day Kim followed up with an email with links and where we can source products used in the class. I have many praises for this lady. Thank you Kim
