Summer Impressions Feedback & Resources

Thank you so much for attending Summer Impressions 2026 !! I’m so excited to be offering this special creative time to get the year started.

Below is some additional information about indigo dyeing and paper rusting. I have also included links to my 4-part blog post series about printmaking papers and recipes for the orange cake and biscuits.

Below that information is a request for you to share some feedback about your Summer Impressions week. I would love to know what you thought of the week, with a view to helping me improve the Summer Impressions offering for next year. If you could take a few minutes to answer these questions, I would really appreciate it.

If you have any questions after our week, please let me know.

INDIGO

Indigo is a natural plant-based dyeing process and creates a beautiful result on paper. Similar to cyanotype in colour, but different.

This link will take you to the kit from Kraftkolour that I used for our vat – Synthetic Indigo Dye Kit. The kit has enough dye and chemicals to dye approx 500g of textile fibre. You can also buy the dye and related chemicals separately.

Knowing more about the process is helpful if you want to pursue this at home. Below are some download resources from Kraftkolour. When purchasing dyes and related chemicals, look for downloadable resources for more information within the online store you are buying from.

PAPER RUSTING

Click here to download the Paper Rusting handout I handed out during the week.

You can apply this technique to both paper and textiles.

I have created a Pinterest board that will send you further down the rabbit hole if you want to continue to explore this process. You will also find other ways of achieving rusted imprints on paper. So many possibilities!

PAPER

This information is shared on different workshop-specific resource pages, but I pulled the links to this page for if you are interested. If you have questions about paper, let me know. Part 2 covers papers used in workshops and papers I like to use for specific printing purposes.

PLEASE SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK

You can choose to share your feedback anonymously if you prefer by not entering your name and email address below. The information you provide on this form will not be published anywhere without your express permission – I use it this information for the development and improvement of my own art workshop practice.

This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.
Overall, how would you rate your Summer Impressions experience?
Did you find that the week was well organised?
Do you feel that you received enough information about and before your week at The Studio?
I publish a first name and suburb/town location with each testimonial, but if you prefer, it can be posted anonymously.
