ON ARRIVAL
Head through the carport and into the studio. I’ll be inside, getting everything ready for our workshop.

Please take a moment to read through the information on this page. It contains important information about your upcoming workshop.

If, after reading the information below, you still have questions before our time together, please call 0413 384 426 or email me.

GET READY…

During our two days, we will explore a range of paper-folding techniques to create several unique and functional artist books. We’ll start with basic folded structures, then build on them to form more intricate designs.

You’ll take home everything you make, along with handouts for each structure so you can continue experimenting at home. I also have plenty of reference books and information available to spark ongoing inspiration and exploration.

SAFETY

We’ll be trimming paper with scalpels/cutting knives. I’ll demonstrate safe handling, and it’s important you follow these guidelines for your own safety.

Please wear closed-toe, comfortable shoes and clothing suitable for hands-on work.

WHATS INCLUDED

Everything you need for this workshop is covered in your workshop fee.

This includes:

  • A variety of plain and colored papers in different sizes
  • Glue, tapes and essential book-making tools
  • Decorative papers, washi tape and other supplies for embellishing your books
  • Paints, pens and additional creative resources for personalising your artist books

WHAT TO BRING

Your own papers (optional): If you have pre-printed (gel prints, linocuts, eco-prints), handmade or purchased decorative papers, old drawings and sketches, feel free to bring them along. A3 or bigger is ideal for folding, but smaller pieces can be joined or used as inserts.

Notebook & pen: Perfect for jotting down ideas, tips or instructions during demonstrations.

Camera/phone: You’re welcome to photograph demonstrations and processes for future reference, but no video.

Don’t worry if you don’t have any special papers. I’ll have more than enough on hand.

LUNCH & SNACKS

Morning and afternoon tea: A light morning and afternoon tea (gluten-free) is provided during this workshop. As is tea and coffee throughout the day.

Lunch: Please bring your own. You can also pop into town to grab something, though parking can be difficult on weekends. There’s a fridge, microwave, and cutlery in the studio if you need them.

ARRIVE TIME

Please aim to arrive by 9:45am so we can start promptly at 10am.

The studio opens at 9:30am. If you arrive early, feel free to make a cuppa or browse reference books.

If you’re running late, don’t rush—drive safely. Call or text me at 0413 384 426, and I’ll catch you up when you arrive.
